Helena 57 West

It’s great living here. The building is clean and spacious apartments. We love the roof and amenities. What we love most about the Helena is the people that work here. Jay, Carlos, and Andre welcomed our kids when we brought them home from the hospital, Jeff, although he joined the Helena after the kids were born, also feels like family. My kids look to them as family. Matt, the building manager, is always friendly and receptive. Joe and Jean are quick to take care of any issues we may have, and Resident Services always has fun events, from painting classes to movie nights, to socials to get to know our neighbors.

I moved out last year after 5 years at the Helena and I miss it so much! The Helena was the best place I have l lived in Manhattan hands down. I never had one single package lost and the staffing of the building is great, I have lived in other building where they just don't hire enough people, not the case at the Helena. If I come back to NYC I am definitely inclined to live there again.

I’m so glad I decided to stay at the Helena during my time in NYC. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
1. The entire process of signing the lease was super smooth, easy and fair.
2. The building staff and concierge made my moving-in process extremely convenient. The staff is very friendly, professional and amazing at their job. I never missed any of my mails/ packages. They have a great system of managing efficiently. They are always available for any concerns or if you need any help. They have amazon hub locker as well.
3. I felt completely safe in the building. The people are nice and friendly. There are a lot of amenities. The rooftop is fantastic.
4. The maintenance was on point always. My requests were always addressed timely.
5. There is a convenience store right below the building. The closest subway is a 10-15 min walk but the building has a free shuttle service. The bus stop is right across the street so that was a big convenience for me.
6. And Ofcourse the apartment was my favourite part. My apartment was spacious, modern, had large windows for ample sunlight, and had a beautiful view.
7. The leasing personnel were very friendly, thoughtful and understanding.

I don’t understand the reviews, I’m here for two years and just got a different apartment for one more year . The stuff is amazing , anytime I had issues they were fixed within 24 hours . Never saw one bug in the building especially cockroaches. The doorman’s are never on cellular phones as mention here. True we do have some renovations in the building to make the living better . Bigger gym , nicer roof and better technology . While we them , they offer us to use the via building . The leasing broker Rabiya and Jessica two years ago were great and pleasant to work with .I don’t see myself looking at another building . Parking is great . Summer times they offer us BBQ and jazz nights with drinks and food . What else do you want ? Nicer view , marble floors , sound system ? Pay 5k for one bedroom and I let you know where.

That's my first review ever done in any platform, but I needed to say everything I think about The Helena after living in the building for 2 years. This is litterally the best management I've ever seen in any building I've lived. They are truly concerned about all tenants, pro active on issues remediation, perfect communication (you always know what's going on when there is a issue like gas leak or power surge for example), and wiliness to help when you have a concern. To give an example, they switched all my curtains in my studio to blackout shades when I told them that the ones they recently put were too clear, and that was approved and done very fast! Incredible!
Also, the building has the nicest staff I've ever seen! Concierges and maintenance staff are always ready to help when you need. You put a repair request on the website and they come in less than 5 minutes and do everything they can to fix the issue as quick as possible!
Not to mention the incredible views from the rooftop and the new mail room with amazon lockers when you get your stuff your self, very convenient. They also recently renewed all hallways and lobby and it's stunning!
Last but not least, the lease office staff is again the most helpful people and helped me with some problems I had in the end of my lease contract. Simply amazing! I would totally recommend living in this building and really hope some day I will go back to live in The Helena again!

The community manager and residential administrative assistants pay close attention to detail and the concierge and maintenance staff are very professional and attend to every tenant need with speed and efficiency. The view of the New York skyline from the roof is spectacular and apartments are spacious and many offer great views and various exposures. Overall a pretty good experience. Great location close to Riverside & Central Park. The maintenance and front staff are amazing. The residents are all very kind. I'll agree that there are kind of "normal NYC living" issues. I'll also agree that the leasing office is VERY hit & miss. Some people will totally go out of their way to help and others it's like talking to a wall.
My one piece of advice is that while the amenities & rooftop are cool, you could get a similar space in the UWS for way less.
