Average cafe for Edinburgh, the food and service was good, though a bit slow as they’re evidently struggling with being understaffed. Despite this, the gentleman at the counter was kind and patient while answering any questions I had regarding food.
The leek and potato soup with sourdough was unfortunately a let down as it was entirely blended and the consistency of baby food. 😅 I love purée soups but I think some potato chunks and bits of leek were really needed here. Flavour was bland as well. We ended up tossing half our soup due to texture alone. The sourdough bread was a bit of a let down flavour wise and left a lot to be desired especially with the toasted thin slices served… thicker cut would have been much better.
Onto the sandwich however! This was a pleasant surprise as I wasn’t expecting much- it was delicious! The “scrambled egg” is actually more of a jammy egg scrambled and is a wonderful flavour consistency with bits of soft boiled yolk, the chive worked exceptionally well mixed in.
Overall it’s a good stop for a quick takeaway but it’s not somewhere I would go out of my way to get food from again.

Came soon after the bakery opened in the morning and bought the plain croissant, cinnamon roll and chocolate twist for takeout per the server recommendation. While the croissant was pillowy soft with lots of laminated interior, it lacked the crispy crunchy exterior one typically expects IMHO. The cinnamon roll was ok, nothing special about it. Likewise for the chocolate twist.

Popped in for a quick breakfast with a small group.

Lovely interior and clean contemporary fittings.

The food is fantastic. I had the Andante Eggs Special - artisanal poached eggs with soldiers. The yoghurt/herbs/sun-dried tomato paste and pistachios work amazingly well.

Will be back the next couple of days I suspect.

our small visit to adante bakery was okay. the service was fine and food overall okay.

food: the pastry was nothing special and actually very bland considering what else you can find within walking distance

atmosphere:
the place overall has a poor quality of sound, the roofing is high but the place is quite clinical and boring.

A lovely cafe with the most friendly staff and a wide selection of brunch and bakery items. The relaxed vibe and reasonable prices suits a whole meal or a quick bite and coffee. It was a comfortable experience and I’m looking forward to my next visit!
