565 Penn Residences

I'd like to thank Diane, the assistant property manager for her invaluable professionalism and assistance in acquiring my current lease at 565 residence. I am beyond satisfied with everything from my apartment to the security of the building and all the amenities. I can't think of a better place to live in DC.

Great location. Helpful management. Of particular note are William and Belinda at the concierge's desk; they're a real asset to the team.

I would highly recommend 565 Penn (formerly Newseum residences) as the place to stay in downtown Washington DC. The biggest positive is the management Daniel and Diana, as well as the friendly concierges and maintenance folks, who are all a pleasure to deal with. I have seen Daniel talk to prospective tenants, and he tries to help them find the best options within their budget and requirements, even if that may mean looking at other buildings and neighborhoods, and even if there are no vacancies in the building. The apartments are spacious, naturally well-lit with floor to ceiling windows, and the appliances and fixtures (kitchen, laundry and bathroom) are modern. I particularly liked having the large refrigerator and gas stoves in the kitchen, and also preferred just having the shower (but no bathtub) in the bathroom. The building also has an amazing rooftop with stunning views of the surrounding buildings and monuments on the mall, and if you happen to be there on the 4th of July, the fireworks can be viewed from the rooftop. The gym is quite adequate and has a good selection of equipment for cardio, strength training and exercise. There is a small business office with a few computers, printers and internet connectivity. There is also a nice lounge for socializing and for community activities
- this lounge has a direct view of the beautiful National Gallery of Art right across the street. The building location is also difficult to beat - all the museums and monuments on the national mall are just a few minutes walk away. Although the streets around the building are generally quiet, it is easy to get to the more lively parts of the city from the 2 nearby metro stations - Archives/Naval Memorial and Judiciary Square within a few minutes walk, and furthermore, numerous restaurants just a few blocks away on 7th Street. During early 2023 there was some construction in the garage, next door building and across the street, but as of August 2023 all that construction appears to be completed, and the sidewalks around the building are now broad and spacious and free of the construction equipment and fencing. All in all, I have fond memories of my stay, and would definitely consider renting there again.

My wife and I are delighted to be here at 565 Pennsylvania Ave.. The staff is super great and they have made extraordinary efforts to make us feel welcome and well cared for.
When we moved in our apartment was meticulously clean. The open floor plan, tall ceilings and huge windows give the apartment an airy light filled flow. How relaxed we are while enjoying the wonderful views outside. This is by far the nicest apt. that my wife and I have ever lived in. We feel incredibly lucky to be here. Thank you to the staff for all that they do.

UPDATE: I have officially been here one year. I am excited about the changes Daniel is making especially holding cool community events. Overall, things are going in a good direction! Shannel is awesome and is always courteous and attentive!

A great place to live! A great location and a great apartments. We had a karaoke night with 4 Corners entertainment and it was fantastic. Great time for residents to have fun laugh and actually sing some great tunes. Very unique experience and events like this is why I love it here.

We moved in a few weeks ago and couldn't be happier. All of the concierge staff have been great and they seem to have worked here quite a while. Roz is the best! She is very friendly, professional, helpful, knowledgeable, and is awesome with my dog. :) Sometimes my dog still gets a little confused when we leave the apartment, but when we say, "Let's go see Roz!" she runs to the door. JahVon in leasing answered all of our questions before moving in and maintanence, has been on top of any minor changes like clipping in a blind track to replacing light bulbs. We love the location, the bright apartments, the apartments have been pretty quiet, they do a great job managing our many packages, and the current residents have all been welcoming and friendly. We couldn't ask for more. Again, a shout out to Roz! and the rest of the staff. Oh-I also feel very safe
with the front desk-I had a crazy delivery crew try to deliver a table top at midnight! No notice etc. and they would not let them in. I have a feeling they really tried to push her to open the door. :( Thank You!
