Sweet little museum with self guided feature. Lots to see and read. Definitely appealed to me and my group as we all have strong medical backgrounds. We were talking about some of the things we saw here the whole trip. Very educational and informative. I'd love to go back just to see what else I may have missed in all that there was to see

For any Pharmacy (or medicine, dentist, optometrist etc) geek this was an amazing treasure trove of historical items. The tour is 100% recommended, not only for the NOLA history, but the introduction to all the items and cabinets on the first floor as well as the rationale for their use. It was great to get a reminder of when germ theory came into practice and when leeches and bloodletting went out (but are still around in certain instances). Highly, highly recommended!

What a great place to visit! Especially if you love the crazy and weird side of history, medicine, pharmaceuticals. The place was awesome! Super informative, you see so many artifacts. There are two floors and you really learn about the history of the first pharmacy and owner. Something to definitely see! (Also, American Horror Story was filmed in the courtyard during the season Coven). There are self guided and guided tours when you buy tickets online.

A must stop attraction in the French quarter! Spend time looking at the items! The items range in cool to crazy! Immerse yourself in a time when medicine and pharmaceuticals were full of unknowns and cures for illnesses were often absurd by todays standards. Can you spot the antique bottle upstairs depicting the devil himself? I did not post very many pictures as I want you to see the place for yourself two stories of pharmaceutical and historical treasures. Also they have a nice clean restroom. Cover for the place is $10 for adults. We spent roughly an hour exploring but I could have been there for hours! If you like apothecary bottles, this is the largest collection Ive ever seen in my life. No matter how long youve been collecting you will be in awe.

Fantastic new exhibit on Black Pharmacists of New Orleans opened up tonight. Delicious spread and drinks. Outstanding talks and absolutely amazing exhibits. Such a gorgeous courtyard. All of the staff members were friendly and helpful.

When we visited the New Orleans Pharmacy Museum it quickly became apparent to us that this was more than just an old pharmacy. On display is the history of medical care in early America. The displays are extensive and it is bit difficult to take it all in. This is also an old home and while that is not the main thrust the old stairways, balconies and rooms tell a story as well. Very much worth a visit.

If you have nothing better to do or need to wait out some rain, this is an ok place to go. It’s not expensive to get in and depending on your interests you may find this to be something you really enjoy. We did not find it to be a highlight of our trip and could have skipped it. We did definitely learn some interesting facts while in the museum though. It’s small so you don’t need to plan more than 1.5 to see everything. I think we were done in less than an hour, but we did not stop and read everything.

We really enjoyed the museum and the history! So much to see and read about! They do give a student discount so be sure to have your ID if you’re a student. The fixtures inside the historic building are incredible as well! Interesting to see the crazy things that were given to people in the past but also fascinating to see what we are still using today.
