Had a book in hand and was ready to purchase, for my 12 year old son, and then the aggressive hostility began when the young woman abruptly announced we need to leave or put a mask on. Fear fever is a sad assault, based not on science or logic, but the emotion of fear. There is nothing to fear but fear it self. Submitting to a fear based request is a step back for logic and civil liberties. This store And its staff should really spend some time examining the fear based policy it has in play, and for what purpose. More importantly I urge them to be brave enough to honestly examine where they learned fear fever thinking, and how is it working out for them here in 2023. Smiles and facial expressions are worthy of sharing. For children’s cognitive and emotional well being it is ESSENTIAL that they can see faces. Masks do not prevent people from getting sick or being sick. Common sense still works -if your sick, wether a customer or an employee, stay home. ARGO has gone woke wack and I hope they go broke sooner not later. PS I found the same books a few blocks away and I was treated with dignity and respect.

The most contradictory bookstore I've even visited philosophy section looks like it was made to not leave antibody calm. Never have I ever seen Deridda next to book about Jesus followed by Foucault.

Always been nice to me, my partner, and little toddler. Great little place for kids books, and one of the few places that have boundary pushing intellectual work in critical ethnic studies and queer studies. Big respect for requiring masks.

Used to like this place... Then they started forcing masks to get in... in full post covid (june 2023). Stop promoting pollution and stop forcing a bad experience on your costumers. Will probably just go and order from Indigo or find another bookstore to spend my time at

I love that place. There is a large selection of books, but it's not overwhelming. My idea of a perfect bookstore !

Cute bookstore, however I don’t understand the good comments about the service 😂
None of the sellers answered me when I said “hi” when I arrived, they barely looked at me actually. They didn’t ask me if I needed help (we were only two customers) and I didn’t have any goodbye either. I felt I was wearing an invisible cape, good job 👏🏻

The curation at this bookshop is unreal. Their selection is varied and the staff are super friendly. I get most of my books second-hand but I can't resist coming here for first-hand books on a regular basis!!
