It's a beautiful church, and the lady working in the office was very helpful. We just wanted to come appreciate the architecture and some of the history. This church used to sit on the grounds of the Alamo, and began construction under Robert E. Lee. Being a history buff, I was astonished that the bell was actually constructed from a 6 pound bronze cannon from the Battle of Gonzales. Potentially THE "Come and Take it" cannon, as the other was said to be a one pounder.

This is the church my mother joined when we moved to San Antonio in 1985. We would continue to come and worship here for the next 8 years. It is a beautiful church.

I know that as a member, you would expect me to be proud of St. Mark's. In May, our organ and choral master accepted a new position. It is summer and you might think that the music would fall off. To the contrary it has been lovely.

We have visited old familiar hymns. It has been so spirirually fulfulling to raise our voices and sing old hymns like "Amazing Grace." I looked around and observed my community bellowing out the words without using the hymnal.

Today, the preacher reminded us that it is not Christlike to be cynical. With the climate as it is today, it is easy to turn toward cynicism.

We closed with another great old hymn.

Each week I have left church with a heart filled with emotion and tears streaming down my cheeks.

I feel closer to my community than ever before. Thank you to whom ever is planning the liturgies and music. Well done!

St.Mark's is a wonderful church located in the heart of San Antonio. The architecture by itself would be enough of a reason just to visit, but as most churches it's the people who make this place truly special, they are warm and inviting, and consist from all walks of life. The sermons are thought provoking and inspiring, and the choir, well, heavenly. I attend this church, and I am a better person for it.

Wonderful church. Incredibly friendly people. The staff is always there to help. When my spouse was near death and after he died the clergy were there to do whatever was needed. This is the first church in decades that I've had any faith in.
