The Mooring Seafood Kitchen & Bar

Daniel was our waiter, and we couldn't have been happier with his attentive, friendly service. 'Above & Beyond' doesn't nearly capture the efforts that went into making our meal so enjoyable.
I was even offered on their behalf a pour of the one whiskey I mentioned (from their list) that i had not yet ever had the chance to taste.
The staff even signed a card, and thanked us for sharing a birthday meal with them!
Do yourself and your company a favor and make a reservation for this dining excellence!
I had the special, a lobster tail & scallops, baked mushrooms served over a bok choy consumé. It was a unique and honestly, the best mushrooms in a dish i have yet to taste- anywhere! It had a bacon-like flavor. The kitchen is serving an experience! The staff delivers as well! Thank you Mooring Seafood!!!!

Delicious lunch at The Mooring in Newport, from the impeccable service to the delightful entrees, to the cake for dessert paired with French press coffee to top it all off. The boats around are all covered in Christmas lights, which I can imagine sets a nice scene in the evenings! Happened to look out the window to see the “Amazing Grace” boat next door, to snap a photo.

Omg the best clam chowder & lobster roll I’ve had in my life! The view is perfect, right by the harbor with the sailing boats. Service was amazing. I could not recommend this place enough, will definitely go back!

The best restaurant in Newport. If you wanna try seafood you definitely need to visit this place. A huge selection of fresh seafood and which will also cook superbly! A couple of dishes were at the Michelin star level. It probably a little bit pricey, but believe me it's worth it. I recommend booking seats in advance if you plan to come here for dinner. But if there is no table, feel free to seat at the bar. The bartenders are great there.
I would definitely recommend from appetizers - tuna poke. It was a delicious and crudo was very good.
We also liked the oysters as well.
But from the main one - risotto with scallops. Insanely delicious!!!
If I could put a grade of the food, I would put 7/5.
I forgot to add parking lot near the restaurant is paid and costs about $ 10 per hour, if I'm not mistaken.

Wonderful lunch with some local seafood !

Recently on a cruise and looking for a place for lunch, we saw the amazing reviews of The Mooring - they did not lie.

We made a reservation through OpenTable and were seated right when we arrived, at a window seat at that ! Served right away by a very friendly and welcoming server, she made it a great meal.

We had the calamari, lobster + shrimp fritters and shared the lobster roll between us - all of them were excellent !! And the drinks, they had some delicious cocktails too

This is a very weird spot because when we came in, they said we need a reservation, which we didn’t have. Even though the restaurant was half-empty, they told us we can only have a spot at the bar. Ironically, when we left after the dinner, the restaurant was still half-empty. Other than that, everything was good. The food was tasty, the oysters were fresh, and we really enjoyed the caprese sandwich.

Tourist review: truly amazing experience. I loved the food and the atmosphere, our waiter was incredible! He made such great recommendations and they did not disappoint at all. Super fresh and tasty seafood all around!! I recommend making reservations to get the patio seating, really worth it. I highly recommend the cod!! So delicious!!
