Interesting that all “recent” reviews have not mentioned the street construction that has been going on at this hotel since June 2023. The hotel doesn’t inform you of this when making your reservation but will include a disclaimer in your confirmation email.
I fell in love with Kimpton Hotels after a visit to the Savannah Georgia Kimpton which was beautiful & provided amazing service and had an amazing restaurant. They had 5pm wine hour in the lobby and guests traveling with pets were greeted with pet bowls and pet beds in your room. It was such a great experience. I was excited to have that experience again in Toronto - DID NOT GET THAT AT ALL This was my first and last visit to the Toronto Kimpton St.George. The only good thing about this hotel are their pet policies and pet amenities (when the staff actually provides them without you having to ask)
Upon late checkin after a long 7hr drive the receptionist discloses “Oh sorry - you were incorrectly informed by our reservation desk - we do not have rooms without carpeting” I asked this question prior to making a reservation as I have allergies and request uncarpeted hotel rooms whenever possible. It will often be a key decision in where I choose to stay. The reservation desk confirmed they were available so I reserved at Kimpton St George. This was not her fault and obviously nothing she could do about that error but the lack of effort was pathetic. Try a little customer service!!! - “I’m sorry for the inconvenience….we see you’re exhausted from a long drive - how about a free snack and glass of wine in our restaurant?” No attempt to even try. She went right to….Oh we can provide a full refund so you can find another hotel. Ya - because thats a realistic option at 9pm at night after driving 7hrs to a new city. . None the less we did exactly that the next morning. We were suppose to stay 2nights but after a horrible meal in the restaurant that serves poorly made pub grub - an awful nights sleep in a tiny closet of a room listening to the HVAC thumping on/ off and an awful morning shower that was equivalent to standing under a garden hose. The room service breakfast was also pathetic. You can get a better meal and presentation attempt at an off highway truck stop. Do better Kimpton St. George!!! This hotel is NOT worth the price point - total false advertising. I still tip valet and service staff because they were all kind a friendly except for the check-in hostess. The lady who helped us check out early the next morning was WAY better and obviously had customer service experience. She apologized for the inconvenience - and didn't charge us for valet service because obviously our stay was not a good. I wish she had been our hostess on check-in. A little customer service and courtesy goes a long way!

I visited for my birthday and had the best experience. I walked in a bit flustered with the drive in and having to figure out how to deal with the cake I brought. Mary at the front desk was very emotionally intelligent about it all and offered to put the cake in the kitchen fridge. She also then picked up that it was my birthday and sent me a bottle of wine and some chocolate up to the room. The room was also very spacious and the bed was super comfy. Also the icing on top of the cake was the wine hour with wine and pizza! FYI a bit of construction on Bloor!

I wish I had something better to say, but I was only checked into the hotel for a few minutes before my car and several others were broken into in the hotel parking lot. Despite having a valet, there’s no security on site and the parking garage is open to the public without gate arms to prevent people from entering and exiting without paying. My husband and I felt completely violated and unsafe, given we were traveling from out of town. We were told by several hotel staff that car break ins happen all the time in their garage and yet there were no precautions put in place to prevent it from happening. The manager would not show us cameras but did see the incident occur. He would not help us with contacting the police and filing a report. He confirmed the incident happened, gave us a business card, and I never saw him again. We were left on our own cleaning up glass on the ground and in our car for hours. My husband and I checked out immediately and went home. I’ve stayed in Kimptons all over the world and this by far was the most unprofessional experience. 0/10 recommend unless you want to be robbed. If you do go, don’t drive.

Got married here last year.. it was absolutely perfect.. we returned for our 1 year anniversary and they were so nice and sweet to us, even gave us some complimentary champagne to help us celebrate. We hope to turn it into a tradition as the food and atmosphere is amazing. 10/10

Highly recommended. We had a great stay at the Kimpton Saint George last week. The staff were friendly, courteous and professional. We were greeted as special guests even though it was our first time staying there. The rooms are clean, bright, quiet and well appointed. And the location is perfect for getting around TO, as you are close to everything. So just book it!

I recommend this hotel but depending on the actual rate and time of the year and the level of service and amenities you may want .
The hotel is well located near at George metro station. The hotel is new and clean with a contemporary minimal decor. The beds are comfortable. Rooms are made daily. Soaps are very nice as in all the Kimpton. It is easy to redeem Ihg points or certificates. Some suites come with bath tubs and a turn table (not the rooms). Some rooms have good views some have very limited view. The hotel has very limited amenities. The lobby sofas and fire area is very nice but tiny for an hotel of this size. The reception staff is very helpful and address any issues that may arise rapidly and efficiently. I recommend to go towards the St. George train station to get a Uber or Lyft, it seems to be dramatically cheaper to be picked up just around the corner. Don’t expect the help of a bell person when you arrive, leave with your luggage or with the wooden entrance door. There is someone by the door but I only witnessed the person helping with valet parking.

Had a great 5-day stay at the Kimpton. It's located in a great location to explore the city. Near the subway (1minute), the luxury shopping and dining area, Toronto University and a 45min walk to Union station. The checkin was smooth, the room as clean as expected and the lobby calming with free Coffee/tea in the morning, lemonade in the afternoon and wine from 5pm. I don't regret staying here and would again. Recommend.

Great location, and love the boho-chic modern style of the hotel.
The room was very clean, and I liked that they had an extra pillow available in the wardrobe. The only downside I would say is the mini fridge in the room. It wasn’t cold at all, even for drinks. My husband called the front desk and they said that it used to hold the mini bar and isn’t really a fridge- downside as we couldn’t keep drinks cold nor store leftover takeout.
They had a wine hour from 5-6pm, in which we partook in their foyer lounge area; it was really nice and we interacted with another couple.
We checked out the hotel restaurant, in which the service wasn’t the greatest and the food was okay. After checking it out the first night, we didn’t go back or order for room service.
All around, we would return for the location, customer service and cleanliness. We also utilized the valet parking, and the service was superb.
