October 2019: he planet of peace is a fountain located in front of the Presidential Palace in Bratislava. There is a globe over 21 meters high on the water. It is decorated with images of pigeons - symbols of peace.

The sculpture was created in 1982. It was cast from an alloy of various metals according to the design of Tibor Bártfay, Valérie Triznova and Pavel Vaj. The sculpture looks like it was floating in the fountain's waters. Pigeons fly around the earth, carrying peace to every corner of it.
Beautiful work of art overlooking the presidential palace in Hodžovo Namestie which is a short distance from Bratislava Old Town. Accessible by trams and buses, Hlavana Stanica , the main station for buses, trains and trams is about 10 minutes walking distance.

This fountain is also known as the Peace Fountain because there’s a sphere sculpture in the middle of the fountain with underreliefs of doves. The sculpture is dwarfed by the size of the fountains though. There’s lots of water jets spraying at the sphere, but otherwise, it’s kind of boring. I only went by day and perhaps it looks better at night.

The fountain is directly opposite the Presidential Palace, on Hodžovo námestie.

Planet of Peace Fountain, few min walk from central train station or Old Town centre, located at the square in front of Grassalkovich Palace which serves as the residence of the president of Slovakia. Good orientation spot or a meet up place. Looks nice at night

One of the most common meeting spots in Bratislava, partly due to the square being an important public transportation hub, but also its location, being close to city centre and the presidential palace which is a place of foreign visits and its nice garden. Similarly to the fountain name, the square itself also used to be called "Peace Square".
Area surrounding the fountain is a bit neglected though, which is real shame for such a popular spot.
