It was a day that the hurricane was supposed to come in. There was chaos at the check in Desk. Redita goes by Red, sorry if I’m spelling it wrong was amazing. She was incredibly helpful and all the while people getting upset about flight delays she remained calm, polite and had a huge smile on her face. Westjet needs more employees like her at the front desk. She deserves a promotion.

This is a new Airline to me. Therefore this was my first time to fly with WestJet Airline, I understand that it is the same as Canadian Air, or Delta Airlines. I flew from Los Angeles to Calgary and from Calgary to Victoria, British Columbia Canada V8W1Y2, with WestJet Airline. And coming back; I flew from Victoria Airport, to Vancouver Airport to LAX Airport, California, with the same jet.

First of all, the Airline was on time taking off and we arrived on time. That was going, coming back was another story. There was so much drama on both Victoria BC Airport and Vancouver Airport - Canadian Customs. This is exactly what a passenger doesn't want to go through.

Coming back from Victoria Island Airport to Vancouver Island Airport, there was a huge delay in taking off from Victoria Airport. We were already inside the plane, when the The WestJet Airline Pilot came on the plane microphone and said we cannot go anywhere, for while. So we needed to stay in our seats, until the Pilot heard from Vancouver Airport. We sat there for a while, because of Vancouver Airport landing issues. The big problem for me was my connecting issues to other Airlines. So most of the passengers who were close near where I was seated voiced the same concerns.

So we sat in the plane for a while and it was very, very hot 🥵🔥 outside. There was no Air conditioning when the plane wasn't moving or flying💸🕊️. To calm the passengers down, the airline hostesses served us "water and some nuts".

Anyway, when that Airline, finally took off and landed at Vancouver Airport, within few minutes, we all rushed to get off the Airline or plane so we could run to our final connecting destination gates, which was really, really far; up and down we took off, I saw no elevators. It was a long walk to both the Canadian Customs and the US Customs, then to our final departure 🛫 destination Gates.

I had a delay at the Canadian- Customs because the Customs Officer thought I had something in the "Blouse and the Pants", that I wore that day. The outfit had few zippers on them and both pants and blouse were white in color. The woman Custom Officer searched me for awhile. She told me to spread my legs, put my hands up several times, and put a Security Stick all over me. She finally broke my Necklace of beads, which she picked up one by one and wrapped them up in a white napkin. And gave them back to me.

First of all, she did not find anything harmful or dangerous on me, but the woman insisted on keeping on searching me for a while. Until she realized that she was becoming a nuisance. That was total "Harassment".

On the Vancouver - United States of America Customs: nothing like that happened; it only took just a few seconds to check through and then I rushed to the gate that connected with Los Angeles, California - LAX.

I don't think I will ever like to go through that again at any Airport. " Period".

Last but not least, I will be avoiding Vancouver Airport, because of the serious reasons stated above. There will never be a Vancouver Airport connections for me in my future travels or tours.

Horrible experience. I wish I would of booked with a different airline. I'm sorry for trusting a major part of a very special expensive trip with this sorry excuse of an airline. I booked 4 tickets Lax to Paris( stop in Calgary) in February for $2400. The trip was ready with hotels, attractions, transportation, etc paid in advance. Then one day before the flight(May 18) I get an email informing that our departing flight has been cancelled due to a potential pilot strike. Obviously I called and was told that I will be refunded my money back ($2400) but in 7-10 business days. But I'm still screwed out of departing flight. So in order to keep my vacation alive I had to booked a flight last minute but now 4 tickets is not $2400 but $5000. So I had to pay an extra $2600 because West Jet airlines don't care. Will never fly with them again and I will spread the word of mouth. So just a warning about booking with West Jet airlines. 0 stars

One star is even a lot!! If I can give less than a star I would give minus 100 stars.
Last Wednesday nite 4/26/23 my flight was at 7:55pm from Lax to Vancouver, Canada. They delayed 3 times and eventually cancelled the flight at last minute. I spent 7 + hours in the airport wasted and very very exhausted. Thye notified me that the next available flight was in following day at 11 am.
They ruined all my plans and my friend whose husband died who waited for me to plan for the funeral needed to cancel everything since I didn’t arrive until the following day past mdday 2pm.
Moreover on my returning flight on Sunday4/30 flight was delayed again. I fell while I was waiting to be checked in. They brought me a wheelchair but I was assigned in the last row seat 30 F, where she seat can not even tilt back.
This is my first flight with WestJet. I would not never again will take this flight. :(

HORRIBLE !!!!! Flight cancelled (would have been 1 stopover) and rescheduled next day with 2 stopovers but first two flights delayed so we missed our connection in Calgary and were rerouted through Van so 3 stopovers. Plane had power issues, westjet staff were NOT helpful at all !!! So took 4 flights to get from Kelowna to LA. They lost both our luggage, one came the next day on one plane which we picked up as otherwise we’d have to wait til the 2nd plane arrived with our other luggage. 2nd piece was delivered at midnight two days into our trip !! Worst travel experience ever.

I just wanted to talk about an unpleasant experience I had at the LAX airport with WestJet in which while boarding the plane my companion and I did not hear the staff call our zone (zone 2) number, until they announced that it was “last call” for our zone. After rushing to the front of the line to board the plane the front of house staff said we had to wait behind all of the zone 3 passengers. It was quite frustrating considering how we had to rush all the way to the front as they did say last call only to be denied entry.... it’s quite unprofessional for them to say last call and not even let us board the plane during our designated zone time. If they didn’t want this to happen, they should’ve announced that it was time for Zone 1 passengers to board more than just the one time.

If I could give this airline no stars I would. We traveled from Laguardia NY to Toronto last week with Westjet. They canceled the flight in the last minute without even notifying it on the speaker at the airport, only upon seeing a long line I asked one of the people and they said the flight was canceled. It took an hour to get to the front of the line in which we were then told they have no seats on the next flight and only got us on a flight 8 hours later!!! They were rude and just so unhelpful as well. Upon calling Westjet customer call center at the airport, I was confronted with a guy that had no patience for me and hung up the phone on me. They then proceeded to tell us that the flight we got scheduled to might be canceled as well so we sat at the airport with our 3 kids for hours in the hopes that they don't cancel the next flight. They mixed up our bag and they were just a shocking airline!! Will definitely not be flying with them again. Spend more money and fly with a more reputable and reliable airline. Upon contacting them about my disappointment and requesting compensation for our shocking treatment they basically said 'tough luck' and they would do nothing. Never Ever Again!!
