The cave is quite difficult to locate I went about 5 times before finding the correct cave the ones in the pictures are not cowboy cave thats one of the smaller caves the actual cave is very big but you have to go up a very steep Incline across the canyon off the trail theirs some steps kind-of formed but its sketchy you'll probably miss it if you don't know what your looking for keep going up the side even when it looks like your going the wrong way you'll eventually see a blue arrow pointing at it 100 percent worth it if you can find it though very cool cave

A wonderful, rugged, lonely canyon hike. Please note that the cave is not open to the public and should not be entered. Doing so can harm the local wildlife.

Good hike, easy enough for two kids under 6 and hard.enough to wear them out. The geology and views are great, the graffiti isn't. The cave is not the first subterranean structure you come to. Several people turned back before they got there thinking some small outcroppings were the cave. The cave is around 50ft in length, and is further down the trail above and to the left of another outcropping. The entrance is marked with graffiti. It's a fairly small opening you could walk past it and not know it.

I took the Cowboy Cave trail and let me tell you; is not supper safe if you don’t know the way, don’t go by yourself but with someone experienced or you’ll trap yourself up there in the canyon trying to find the way back! The cave is off the trail in front of the KWF, up (11pm inclination) and the way is from the right side of the Canyon. People taking the hike told me the cave is longer if you’re up for crawling in a kind of dried water tunnel that goes to the upper cave exit.
