Going from easy, flat surface to inclined hike, overall quite satisfying!

Great experience and was family and dog friendly. Loved that you don’t have to pay for parking, and the sights are beautiful.

Red Rock Conservation Area west of Las Vegas offers a number of interesting trails to explore. First Creek Trail looks modestly innocuous at first, but it leads to a micro climate canyon with Ponderosa Pines and seasonally, a nicely running creek. It also functions as a entrance into the 🌈 Rainbow MTN Wilderness too....

The trail is very flat and seems basic. The views only get better as you get closer to the creek. The trail is a bit confusing but just stay close to the creek once you reach it.

Took a walk to the (hidden) Waterfall and had a great day. Easy hike/walk on a man made trail with some small rocks in places along trail. Took my 2.5yr old grandson with us, he made it with some complaining and LOVED THE WATER !!!

It is a very boring hike the first 1.5 miles in. If you don't mind walking across the empty flat desert for 1.5 miles in and 1.5 miles out then you will like it. But, once you get back in the canyon it is amazing. It is very pretty and the temperature drops from the desert floor. The little waterfall and pond are nice. You do need to commit to the end though. It is pretty rough and it goes from a super easy walk to a moderate to hard rough trail.
If you are super motivated you can make it to the top of Mt Wilson on the same trail. You need about another 10 hours to make it up and back though.

Stunning hike to do this time of year! You come across several waterfalls on the way up that are beautiful to look at and relaxing to listen to. Make sure and wear good shoes and layers.
