Pabla Sweets

Ein absoluter Geheimtipp für authentische indische Küche. Der Laden mag auf den ersten Blick nicht wirklich einladend wirken, ein Besuch lohnt sich aber sehr. Man bekommt hier eine kleine aber feine Auswahl an Thalis (indische Tabletts mit mehreren Gerichten und Beilagen) in vegetarisch oder mit Fleisch. Wenn man die vegetarischen Gerichte ohne Paneer nimmt und auch den Joghurt abbestellt, sind einige Gerichte sogar vegan. Man bekommt zu allen Gerichten Brot, Reis, Salat, Joghurt und Achar. Ich kann insbesondere die Paneer Gerichte empfehlen, Palak Paneer und Shahi Paneer. Auch die Gerichte mit Alu Paratha (ein mit Kartoffeln gefülltes Brot) sind super lecker. Vom Geschmack her wirklich richtig gut. Was ebenfalls besonders ist: Man bekommt diverse indische Street Food Gerichte wie z.B. Pani Puri oder Samosas.
Die Atmosphäre ist sehr einfach, man bestellt am Tresen und kann sich an einen der sehr eng gestellten Tische setzen. Leider sind diese häufig auch nicht ganz sauber. Für das Essen lohnt es sich aber, darüber hinwegzusehen oder einfach zum Mitnehmen zu bestellen.
Die Preise sind fair, man bezahlt für die Gerichte zwischen 10 und 15 Euro und bekommt sehr große Portionen. Ich kann das Pabla Sweets für eine echte indische Food Experience sehr empfehlen.

First of its kind I have seen after coming to Germany. It is a sweet and chaat shop similar to what you might find back home. It is a small and tidy place and the owner is a great guy. There is no table service though, only self-service.
Tried the Samosa chaat and Jamoon. Samosa chaat tasted great, and Jamoon wasn't that bad either. I have heard good things from my friends about Chole Bhature and Paranthas as well. The menu had good north Indian dish options and I would love to try the rest during my next visit. The price is pretty low compared to other restaurants, so I would say this is a must visit place in Hamburg.

I would recommend trying it for its simple flavors, but i must say my experience has been dissapointing. I have visited tgis place three times and ordered chole batore and chaat. Each time, I noticed quality and quantity were decreasing.

Chaat items are good ! Chole Bhatura wasn’t spicy but if you ask spicy extra, they recommend it ! If tables are clean, then would have been nice

The food is North Indian. You can order a Thali for dinner (main dish, 1 naan bread, some basmati rice, little salad, yogurt) drink Mango lassi or Almond Milk.
