We have seen lots of shows at The Rep, including two recent performances over the Christmas period (Red Riding hood & Lion, Witch & The Wardrobe). This is a fantastic and very relaxed setting to enjoy some great shows. Our children love seeing shows at The Rep.

Lovely theatre. Very comfortable seats. Woman on B door at matinee of The lion, the witch and the wardrobe on 28.12.23 could have done with some customer service/charm lessons. Other than that, all staff were lovely and we had a great experience.

I went to watch Little Red Riding Hood with my six and eight year old daughters. It's was absolutely amazing! The theatre was The Door. It was small and intimate. Perfect for the little ones. You can see everything really clearly. We were sat on row B. Definitely worth going to.

I will cover both the show and the theatre itself in this review.
The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.
Incredibly underwhelming, unimaginative and gravely disappointing on numerous levels.
The artistic interpretation of the movie and subsequent translation onto the stage has a lot to be desired and fails across the board.
The costumes are absolutely dire, in particular “the beavers”; who look like they were on a tight budget for a fancy dress party.
Scenery is non existent.
I could not buy into the Pevensie “children” who are all clearly adults; the mannerisms don’t match visually therefore makes odd viewing.
Deviations from the original plot were unnecessary and started to infuse scenes reminiscent of pantomime. Key scenes at that! Such as Lucy “finding the wardrobe”; is now replaced by a cat with its ever so hilarious “meow” that guides her there. How. Amazing.
And Narnia; itself, I was expecting a truly wonderful, magical transition into this world. It’s not.
One of the white witches henchman is channeling his inner Golem, which although acted out amazingly, feels out of place. But, ironically sums up the production quite well; “it’s just an utter mess”. It’s completely devoid of any magic.
Scenes with the white witch and Aslan were enjoyable and well executed but ultimately didn’t make up for this mockery.
The Theatre
Management of the place is unprofessional and unwelcoming. Nobody to guide or welcome on entry.
It was absolutely ridiculous that you allow vast amounts of people to rustle crisp packets and eat away in the audience. At one point that is all you could hear over the quieter scenes.
Never, have I been to a theatre where they are literally kicking you out of the door once the production has finished. Further, upon leaving a gent carrying a table to inside of the theatre, at lightening speeds, narrowly missed colliding with me.
No etiquette. Poor experience.

A great theatre experience. I webt to see The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe. Any seat is good to view the performance.
The cast were all amazing and the story told really well. The Rep staff were also very calm and helpful.

Had a great time at the REP and watched Sinatra the musical. I’ve been to the REP twice this year and was really impressed with the improved services available and quality of the shows they put on.
Looking forward to future bookings.
