I really love this venue. We visited on November 18, 2023. We’d traveled the 4 hours one way to Cleveland and I was really looking forward to seeing Geddy Lee on his book tour, and when I arrived at the theater, I was happy to find a beautiful setting, friendly security, great concessions, and clean bathrooms.

We took our seats and began to enjoy the evening. Unfortunately, we had a very intoxicated gentleman on one side of us who fell asleep, but it didn’t stop him from talking very loudly. The gentleman on the other side of us also fell asleep (the show was great, I swear!) and he was snoring, also very loudly. Really took away from the event, ya know?

During intermission I was fortunate to meet the NICEST usher named Linda. We started a lovely conversation, and I took the opportunity to gently explain the situation in my section, and she asked me if we wanted to move. I was so excited. We received a very nice upgrade and Linda and her manager were the absolute sweetest. We thoroughly enjoyed the second half of the show. I saw Linda after the show and expressed my gratitude. She really saved the night and the whole experience. Thank you, Linda!!!

Be kind to the staff and they’ll take care of you! 😘

Saw Book of Mormon. Legs were a little cramped but that is typical of a vintage theatre. Beautiful venue.
Went to the KeyBank State Theatre for Into The Spider-Verse: In Concert. Staff was kind, concise and helpful and the venue itself was also quite intuitive to navigate and pleasantly designed.

The sound was mediocre at best, very hard to understand the comic. I expected better and clearer sound, sorry just didn't cut it for me. Very expensive concessions too. But hey, what can I expect from downtown Cleveland! 🤔

This was my first time attending the theatre
It was a pleasure from beginning to end. The staff was friendly, helpful, and so excited to see the patrons. The parking was easy to access and lead right to our theater. The venue is beautiful and ornate. The seats were comfortable and pretty roomy. And for "cheap" seats, the view was great. There were merch tables and plenty of options for food and drink during and before the show. And finally when leaving the parking garage emptied quickly and efficiently.

First time coming to Playhouse. Saw Hamilton on January 11th. Red Coats were friendly and helpful managing the crowd. The theater is a beautiful place. Seats were a tad narrow (I'm not a particularly large person either) but they were tolerable. Definitely needed a stretch during intermission. Overall a great time and would come again.

I had the best time attending a stellar performance of the Hip Hop Nutcracker at KeyBank State Theatre! This theatre is truly historic. The lobby is absolutely stunning, especially at Christmas time. Its architecture rivals some of the most famous theaters on Broadway! Ticket taker greeters were all very friendly and helpful with finding our seats. The theater venue is large enough to accommodate a good crowd yet still offers a great view from almost every seat in the house. Floor and balcony seating is available. Very family friendly. Great acoustics and stage effects. They had a phenomenal DJ spinning old school hip hop before starting the show. People were dancing in their seats, having the time of their lives! Several concession stands are open before the show as well as during intermission. A wide variety of options from popcorn, candy, soda, and alcoholic beverages are available. They only accept credit or debit cards for purchases. Restrooms are located downstairs from the lower level. The long lines going down the stairs look insane but they move quickly. Valet parking is available and well worth the extra expense. Just make sure you are one of the first to retrieve your vehicle after the show, or you could be stuck there awhile.
