Castell Rooftop Lounge

My partner and I visited from Florida and we were shocked at how rude our waitress was. She never introduced herself, for one (which was smart considering her behavior towards us). We ordered their warm chocolate chunk sundae and received it incorrect (chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla, no caramel, super hard cookie) that of which we informed our server about. She grabbed 1 of our bowls and walked off without much of another word to us and this was where things went downhill fast. We noticed and just brushed it off as just a regular act. We then ordered their Toasty Havana drink and the marshmallow had a hair attached to it (see photo)…. Our waitress was hard to call over and when we FINALlY got her attention to inform her, she says “Okay, want another one?” and quickly grabs our cup to get rid of it with absolutely no remorse, as if it was a normal occurence. She was extremely short with us, extended no apologies, and did not show any kindness. We imagine that maybe she wanted to go home but that’s no excuse to be inhospitable to your guests. I do not want to explicitly name the server that was on our receipt since it might not actually be OUR waitress (again, we did not get her name….) but this experience was not great and I would not recommend it to anyone

I came here on a solo date for my birthday. Being from Houston, and admittedly without doing much research, I walked past a sign for this establishment and made a mental note to return in the evening. When I came up, I was immediately impressed by the coziness of the ambiance especially as a rooftop bar nestled in the heart of nyc. I was sat on the patio that thankfully (as a Texan) had some nice outdoor heating. I was greeted by the loveliest server named Nick who was kind and patient with me as I asked him for recommendations. He told me one of his favorite small plates was the housemade ricotta, and Lord have mercy, it was one of my favorite dishes I’ve had since I’ve been here. He also walked me through the cocktail list and I took him up on his suggestion to add my preferred spirit to the prickly pear paloma (not pictured. The picture was a seasonal cocktail) that was the perfect combination of flavors. Although this establishment was on the 21st floor, the service provided by Nick made me feel like I was floating on the clouds. He truly was phenomenal from the moment he greeted me and made me feel welcome with his pleasant demeanor. If I lived here, I swear on everything I would come every weekend with my friends just for Nick. Thank you so much!!!

The service was a litttle slow, but otherwise very kind. The atmosphere is great because it’s not that well known among tourists so you get more casual rooftop vibes. It’s also priced as any other NYC rooftop, nothing over the top. Had a good time!

What a beautiful rooftop in Times Square. I know I’m surprised myself too 😅 you know these rooftop bars, you really never know what you’re going to get. But I really liked it!

I believe I went on a happy hour & they had a great deal. Available Monday to Friday from 4-6 & it’s worth it. $12 old fashioned, come on!! Wow oh wow. And it was good, not watered down.

This is a very rare statement, but I recommend for tourists & locals. 😅 but do lower your expectations for a good view.

Absolutely LOVE it here! Staff is friendly and so nice! The food is soo good and tasty. Get the potatoes... TRUST ME. And the drinks..... ugh... I dare you to get only one... you just can't.
I've been here twice in a week already and will be coming again very soon! This is the place to go for quick meet & drinks, catch up with friends or date night. This place is cozy, delicious, comfortable to be in. 100% recommended 👌 😋

This is the best rooftop bar in Manhattan. It’s on top of the Marriott AC hotel on 40th Street in between 7th and 8th. Stunning views, great drinks and good food too. Plenty of outdoor seating if the weathers nice and if it’s not you can sit inside by the fireplace. Perfect place for a before theater drink or you can just go up, relax and soak in the beauty NY has to offer.

Best deal right now is their seasonal Passion Fruit Sangria. Without a doubt, you would not be disappointed. Best value for your money. Storm was our host and he was excellent. Amazing views, highly recommend to family and friends!
