Watchung Valley Golf Club

Was invited for a party here on a Saturday night during the summer. Before entering the building, you see ladders up on the building and buildings in desperate need of repair. Upon entering, you get the strong whiff of mildew! Ballroom ceiling water stained from leaking roof. These issues needed to be addressed BEFORE the summer busy season. This place is really run down. I really couldn't bring family, friends or clients here. I chose another CC.

I can’t say enough about the great staff, fun membership, and outstanding layout at WVGC. Always a pleasure to be on property.

This is the first time we have been there since ownership has changed.
We went to a catered affair.
The only con would be that the dinner was expensive for the choices we had. However that may have been because the organization deemed it a fundraiser.
The chicken choice was very good not the run of the mill rubber chicken.
Very enjoyable.

Challenging course with good hole positioning... while tees could use some work; no markers, yardage was very hard to find given golfers were new to the course...

Excellent golf course with beautiful views with foxes and hawks circling the greens, was like a scene out of National Geographic! The greens were very difficult and playing with a club member to help you read them would have helped. One recommendation I have is placing a large stone at each hole with the hole number and yardage, this to keep with the aesthetics of the course and so the players know which hole you are on. Highly recommend this course.

I wish to give the place negative stars. I was married 10 years ago at this location when it was twin brooks, and had the most lovely, wonderful night of me and my wife’s lives. 10 years later, wanting to celebrate faithfuly at the place where it all started, I made a reservation for our 10 year anniversary a month in advance. All my planning was in vain as I was only to find out the night of, 15 minutes before the reservation with my own call to the place, that the chef “called out sick and would not be having dinner that night.” Not only was no “ I’m sorry” given from the woman who answered the phone, but “ Well we thought we called everyone.” What place shuts down when 1 person call out sick? Was the golf course closed because the pro was out? I think not. This place is terrible and the people are terrible.
