This property is a hidden gem in Washington. Our tour guide was engaging, friendly and knowledgeable. I look forward to going back to try the beer garden.

This is a hidden gem of Washington DC. I've visited the city many times and never heard of it before. Definitely worth a visit to do the tour and have a drink in the garden. The garden is open to the public but tours must be booked in advance. And the tour is worth the small fee! This house is so beautiful and interesting to learn about from a local curator.

One of the most beautiful places in DC! The true definition of a hidden gem.

The tour is good, you get to go inside the house. A max of 8pax per tour group makes it cozy and intimate. A little spooky inside but you get to learn more about the family. The inside is well preserved and high tech based on the period it was built. The owners were definitely trail blazers...

The Heurich House Museum is open to the public for tours. Visitors can learn about the history of the house and the Heurich family, as well as see the many beautiful furnishings and artworks that fill the rooms. The museum also offers a variety of special events throughout the year, such as concerts, lectures, and holiday celebrations.
The Heurich House Museum is a great place to learn about the history of Washington, D.C., and the Gilded Age. It is also a beautiful and inspiring place to visit. If you are looking for a unique and educational experience, I highly recommend visiting the Heurich House Museum.

Amazing experience touring this well preserved home. Love that they are open on some afternoons so I had the opportunity to tour. Very reasonable price and so cool they host a beef garden in the back.

As a Georgetown residents, I have been wanting to tour Heurich house for a couple years now. My friend and I kept looking for tickets but they were at weird times and nobody picked up the phone when you called the number. On 3/18 we found one ticket at 2 PM and one ticket at 3 PM, we showed up at 2:30 hoping they would accommodate us to tour together. The tour guy who was a fellow told me he would lose his job if he allowed be to be part of the 3PM tour, which I thought was a bit ridiculous, since I had paid for a tour, just at 2PM and the tour at 2 had one less person. He first told me that I could look on the website and call a number under tours, the number did not exist. My friend went on the 3PM tour and I had to wait for an hour in the garden for the tour to finish. This inflexibility completely ruined my day. Allowing one more person in a 3 PM tour group should not have been a big deal. I didn’t want to fellow to lose his job but he also could not tell me or provide me a number of someone that I could speak with to ask for an exception. He also was not able to reimburse me for the 2PM tour that I couldn’t go on. He said I’d have to wait till Monday to call and try to get my money back. I’d really not recommend this organization as they are completely inflexible. Honestly I’m not sure why I even wanted to tour some old rich person’s house just cause he owned a beer company. What a waste of time.

Heurich House Museum is a mansion from the Gilded Age just south of Dupont Circle. For a home in the city, it's massive, but for a museum, it's small. It's truly a museum/event space for locals, not tourists (though, tourists are welcome).
The Heurich House is the mansion of Christian Heurich, a German immigrant who was the oldest brewer (he died at age 102) and big time business owner in DC. Outside of the government, he owned the most amount of land and employed the most amount of people. His large brewery now houses the Kennedy Center.
This home is a historic property remembering Christian Heurich's legacy in DC. They offer tours (suggested donation of $10) Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays that last an hour long. In addition to that, they always have events from book clubs to brewing classes to a famous Christmas market every year.
What most people don't know is they have a large garden in the back open to the public Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm. They have benches, picnic tables, and even an art gallery in the carriage house for people to enjoy for free. It's the perfect respite from the city!
