Amazing area and 100% worth taking the cruise that transports you down river and round the many beautiful dotted islands . Some are inhabited with friendly residents waving at you and you will also see local wildlife and birdlife.

This is always a favourite stop on our way from Kingston to Brockville etc. Nice washrooms, pik nik tables with nice BBQs a couple pavilions, boat launch, playground and even yurts that can be rent. If your on your way from Toronto to Montreal this is a great stop for a break and to enjoy the 1000 islands.

Leek Island 🥰

During World War I, Leek Island became a Military convalescent Hospital for Canadian soldiers. The affluent American couple, the Kips, transformed their summer home into a place of healing and recreation for the wounded soldiers, at their own expense.

Our Ôtentik was on a nice site right on the water but it's a very busy noisy Campground with the highway near by, the train and the motorboats on the lake. The ôtentiks are also self check in which was a bit strange.

Nice spot to go camping, hiking or even have an outdoor picnic with your family. There’s a small fee of about $6-8 you’ve to pay on arrival at the visitor centre if you plan to hike or spend a couple of hours. Very scenic but if you’ve pets please remember to pick up after them.
