I'm not sure how they monitor the lot but they're strict with their 2 parking payment options. We came and parked in the early morning (2am) then we were towed sometime between 9am-10am, even though there were no other cars on the lot. We paid for the 8 hours. 10$ more and it would have been 24hrs and we probably wouldn't have been towed.
