Had a chance to visit during Restaurant week. Brunch cost $45 for appetizer/soup + main course.
Atmosphere is 5 star, looks very posh and elegant. Could feel old, but it has its charm.
Service was excellent as well.
Food is mediocre, presentation looked like cafeteria food.
Cost 💲, it’s definitely on more expensive side, other than restaurant week menu would be $25-30 starting for appetizers .Tea $10, beer starts from $16.
Overall restaurant experience was 4/5. Definitely service and atmosphere worth your time visit at least once. But food is definitely overpriced.

On the last night of New York visit, everyone decided to try this restaurant. It has a beautiful collection of artifacts in the basement as well as many decoratives throughout the dining area. It reminds of the influent time of Russia in arts, musics. Good foods in a glorious dining room.

We visited the iconic Russian Tea Room for afternoon tea. We went right in the heart of brunch time and it was annoying loud and crowded. We had reservations and were immediately seated. The hostess asked the couple in front of us if they wanted a vegetarian menu. Our host didn't ask us so I told him that we were pescatarians. After we were seated, we were given a brunch menu and a tea menu. After a long wait, our server showed and we told our server that we were pescatarians, he said that the host should have given us a vegetarian menu, so he left to go find vegetarian tea menus, so we waited even longer. Service was extremely slow because the brunch crowd was heavy. The server constantly apologized for our wait, even as we were leaving. I noticed that his demeanor soften once the crowd thinned out, as he was probably overwhelmed by the holiday crowd. I was disappointed that the teas that were on the brunch menu (which we never should have received) were not the same teas that were on the tea menu, for instance, there is a Russian tea on the brunch menu that was not on the tea menu. It seems fitting to have the Russian tea on the tea menu in the Russian tea room. I feel that it probably would be less chaotic if the afternoon tea guests and the brunch guests would be separated by floors (maybe sections). Overall, the place was very classy and traditional. The decorations were gorgeous and expensive looking. I just prefer a more quiet setting for afternoon tea and this wasn't it.

Our visit to the Russian Tea Room was a standout brunch experience. I ordered the French toast, and my wife went for the two eggs with bacon and potatoes – both dishes were delicious. The tiramisu for dessert was hands down the best we've ever had. The atmosphere was fantastic, thanks to the captivating decor. The service was top-notch, with the staff being incredibly accommodating. In a nutshell, if you're looking for great food, a cool vibe, and excellent service, the Russian Tea Room comes highly recommended.

A wonderful experience. Chicken Kyiv was delicious. I only wish they had more mushroom sauce, it was amazing. Cream Brulé was done to perfection. Only downfall is the price of drinks. One glass of wine is $25, NYC is expensive, but that’s really expensive and it was not very good, regardless of price. The Prosecco on the other hand, was outstanding! I’ve eaten here several times over the past 15 years. A scoop of ice cream is $22. (Again, just very expensive.) It’s definitely worth the experience of unique place to eat with a storied history.

Atmosphere of the restaurant is good but the food and the service are horrible.our order was ribeye and it was burnt did not expected to be like that my friend order lamb chops medium well and it was not medium well at all. The food presentation was horrible As you can see from the photos I uploaded. The bread was very cold and they forgot to bring it to us until we asked, for it. the food that we ordered and got it the value was overrated, The service I think was not good because it’s Christmas Eve and it’s a busy time. So if I were to recommend this place I would say meh. Hope they do better job with food quality and presentation.

This is a very upscale restaurant, next to Carnegie Hall, as it corresponds. We went there for Thanksgiving. As such, the menu is semi-fixed, meaning you choose from several options for appetizer, entree and dessert. The food was indeed very good, the service very good, but I have to say that for $200/person you really expect something out of this world. And, again, this was very good but not out of this world. Otherwise, the atmosphere is fantastic, it really seems out of a movie set, both on the first floor as well as the second one. It would be interesting to try the "normal" menu and see how it fairs. Having said all this, it is certainly an icon in NY so, if you don't mind the expense, I certainly recommend it.
