This Galerie is small but full of fabulous art. Unfortunately on our visit a few galleries were closed so call ahead to make sure the full collection is open. As an architect I thoroughly enjoyed the building as well. When we arrived there was a line but it was for the cafe. If you buy a ticket you can skip the line and go to the basement cafe. Dessert was simply amazing!
Enjoyed visiting Neue Galerie. I could've spent hours looking at Klimpt's portrait of Adele. There were portraits of Gertrud Loew as well which was mesmerizing. It was a quiet and small gallery I could enjoy without rushing (not like in front of Van Gogh's Starry Night at the MoMA). I wish they allowed photography since I loved the portrait of Adele, but I guess not allowing photography made this gallery so peaceful. I would revisit just to see a portrait of Adele. The price could be lower considering how small the gallery is compared to MoMA and Met, but it was worth it.
Service was exceptional. Atmosphere was perfect for a delicious Coffee Kreme and apricot crepes! Will definitely visit again!
Really great museum. Deep discount now because only 2 rooms open. Loved seeing "The Women In Gold" read the history or see the movie. Amazing history in this museum. Had wine, food and dessert at the cafe that does not disappoint.
Several years have passed by and they still have only 2 Rooms to show. As much as I love the Woman in Gold, I am waiting to see more paintings. The entrance has been cut in half, it is $11 for adults and $8 for seniors.
My favorite gallery in New York ✨ There is something so special about this place. The portrait of Adele Bloch Bauer I is a master piece. Also love The Dancer. Best Klimts in the city. Came in on the first friday of the month (free entry!) and had a great time, although only one room was open. I 1000% recommend watching the 2015 Woman in Gold movie before coming in to appreciate the artwork more. Also recommend making a stop in Café Sarbasky when coming in (and reserving ahead if on a weekend)!
