Animal abuse. Never ride an elephant. Do not support this business if they continue to ride the elephants.

I’ve never been here, but elephants are not physically designed to carry people and a saddle on their back. If you truly love and respect elephants, you shouldn’t ride them – it’s shameful behavior.

Small Elephant camp with 3 elephants. Take u for a ride in the fields. Elephants are busy eating while u ride. You can take a boat to upstream in the river. There you can take a ride in bamboo raft which is great fun. Some of the resorts on the edge of the river are simply amazing. Overall good experience.

**DO NOT GO TO THIS CAMP!**

My wife and I were mistakenly sent on this tour instead of our tour to the floating market. We said we’d not participate in the activities but had to wait around because our ride back to our hotel was with the tour driver.

Before visiting Thailand we made a point to educate ourselves on these types of tours and avoid them at all cost. We were devasted when we found ourselves on one.

This camp uses BULL HOOKS, METAL CHAINS and TWO PERSON METAL SEATS.
When you arrive at the camp there is no introduction and info on the elephants kept here. Nobody checks your weight before being put on top the elephant, two people at the same time.
The elephants did not get a break between tours and were controlled using bull hooks, which is a tool that’s sole purpose is to control the elephant by inflicting pain in there most tender spots, eyes, behind ears, trunks and anus. The elephants learn to fear this instrument after being tortured with it during “training”.
I refused to partake in any of the activites once I saw the methods they use to control these beautiful animals.
This tour absolutely broke my heart and I found myself incredibley upset for the rest of the day/trip and even as I write this review.
Please please please do not partake in places/activites like this one. If you are an animal lover visiting Thailand, there are many ethically responsible alternatives to this. That either have no connection to wild animals or better than that actually help these beautiful intellgent creatures without causing such horrible abuse for the sake of a 20min tourist experience walking around a dusty field on top of a wild animal.
If like me, you find yourself in a place like this. Take photos/videos and share with family and friends. These kind of places will continue if we don’t educate each other on the reality of them.
After all isn’t that what reviews are all about?
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope this review helps you.
