Good zoo, animals clearly well looked after. Polite staff and good facilities. Close to the train station so it’s easy to access from all over Hamburg.
We went on a quiet day, had the takeaway cafe, basic food but it was welcomed as it was a very cold day, tasted great.

I went on a rather cold, rainy day bit despite that it was a nice experience.
There weren't many people around and no Kiosk was open because it's low season. The animals seem well taken care of;some In hibernation, relaxing,being fed and having a good ol' time .
The Arctic 🐻❄️ area was good though the Polar bears were not relatively close enough to see them but far enough to enjoy the scenery.
Definitely a must see.
It takes just about 2hours to go round the animal zoo.

We went there a monday in deceber which was lovely and we almost had the entire park to ourselves. Looked at the feeding of the orangutans which was super fun and the caretakers were really nice. A lot of the animals were inside due to the cold weather and their indoors cages are not very fun and could use some modernisation. Also one thing that could use some upgrading is to make more of the signs and information in English.

Great place for families and couples. Worth a single visit too. The aquarium was great and had a lot of displays and pools that just keep you glued to the glass. Pricey but worth it. Make sure to take the entire day if you go for the aquarium and zoo.
Had a great trip to the zoo in Hamburg.
Started off at the Aquarium which is huge and has a wide selection of fish and birds alongside various others with a big cinema type screen at the end including sharks and much more.
The zoo is great plenty of animals great viewing and the animals have plenty of space.
My only issue was the paths can lead all over the place and I can imagine it can be easy to miss a lot of the animals if your not paying attention.
It was a very rainy day but that didn't stop us having a great day and it's a really east tube ride from Hamburg Central
