I was afraid that this place would be targeting more kids.. but frankly I enjoyed it a lot .. took me roughly 2 hours with 0% boredom .. great energy .. surrounded by nature (variant types of fish from all over the world, snakes, turtles, leaves)!

Immer wieder schön auch wenn die Ticket Preise doch schon Recht hoch sind. Aber es gibt allerhand zu sehen. Für Fotografen ist es leider nicht immer leicht das richtige Bild zu machen. Scheiben teilweise sehr dreckig und schon zerkratzt und in die Jahre gekommenen.
Tolles Aquarium mit einer Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Meeres- und Flußbewohner. Im Obergeschoss gibt es einen kleinen Tropenbereich, eine willkommene Abwechslung zu den ganzen Glasvitrinen. An Wochenenden und während der Ferienzeit lohnt es sich, kurz zu gucken, wie viele Besucher da sind. Auch unbedingt online das Ticket buchen, da die Online-Tickets meistens günstiger sind. Für alle die in Berlin wohnen, lohnt sich das Kombiticket Zoo-Tierpark-Aquarium, sobald ihr 3 oder 4 mal (gesamt) Besuche im Jahr macht.
Very nice atmosphere, a lot to see, one of the best ones worldwide in my opinion. One star less because €20 entrance for adults only for the aquarium is in my opinion too expensive. Tickets not available at the entrance, you need to buy at main Zoo entrance (about 100 m to the left).
Great time there. Can easily spend half a day, more if you are playing the stamps card game, but it's only in german. That is my only issue, that you need to speak/read german to be able to learn things.

The aquarium was under construction so you can't enter it from the zoo. We bought tickets ahead of time. It was warm. Nice little selection of aquatic animals and snakes. Some sharks, fish, jelly fish, sea horses, sting rays, eels, and lizards. There is seating throughout.

It was a thrilled and also disappointing experience. My almost 4 year old really enjoyed. It could have been more helpful, if they had a direction how the aquarium need to be visited. You need to come out of the zoo through the shop and the you have a separate entrance
This is my second time visiting the place. The latest is in September 2023, many are closed for renovation. The highest floor is not available.

Tickets are expensive. It was ok too, it was over crowded. Many people with huge kids strollers just leave them around in the walking area and take up all the space. It was a clean place but with the amount of people going in you can’t even experience looking at everything without being shoulder to shoulder with a random person. People love to take up the shark tunnel spot and sit there for hours and never let other people use it. Recommend going on week days when it’s not busy cause if you go on a weekend you’ll never get to enjoy every part of the place! My son had fun but we only spent an hour in there cause it was just too crowded.

Das Aquarium ist seit 30 Jahren sehr konstant und die Fische, die ich aus meiner Kindheit kenne leben immer noch. Das ist super. Das aber die oberen beiden Etagen geschlossen sind und der Preis gleich bleibt ist sehr schade. Das neue Kaffee ist nett, ich finde nur die Preise zu hoch. Ansonsten ist das Aquarium immer wieder ein schönes Erlebnis. Im Aquarium braucht man nur ca. 2 Stunden deshalb lohnt sich das Kombiticket mit dem Zoo.

The Berlin Aquarium is like a magical underwater world! They have lots and lots of different fish and animals to see. It's so cool and fun to explore. If you like nature, you should definitely go check it out!
Much bigger than we expected! Well worth a visit. If you don't speak German, pick up an English leaflet at the info desk on the way in and buy the audio guide for €3 (plus you have to leave ID as a deposit). The audio guide gives you some key info and details on some of the creatures. There are lockers for €1 returnable coin, toilets by the entrance but no cafe.

It was an amazing idea to visit Sea Life Oberhausen! Highly recommend to visit it with kids and family. The ticket price is a bit high but it definitely worth it!
Wir waren das erste mal im Aquarium. Ich hatte mir zwar das ganze etwas größer vorgestellt aber okay. Die Aquarien sind schön aufgeteilt nach Ozeanen oder gegen den. Wie wir dort waren gab es leider einige Umbaumaßnahmen weshalb auch ein Bereich nicht offen war. Den Eintritt empfand ich etwas zu teuer wenn man nur in das Aquarium geht. Im Café im ersten Stock kann man schön sitzen und die Preise sind noch okay.

Interesting place. It allows you to take a look at a small piece of the fascinating and vast world hidden under the surface of the water. There are penguins. There's also a croc. You can see the whole thing at a slow pace in an hour, so I recommend thinking about it when buying a parking ticket. You don't actually need to print a ticket bought online (despite instructions on how to print it on it).
Brilliant Zoo and animals are wonderful but the facilities are very limited. Both with restaurants, food supply and definitely quality. The stale old food looks like it sits there precooked all day and is overpriced for what you get. Cold french fries precooked. It's probably best to bring your own food if you can. But overall the animals are lovely to see. I was surprised to see a live animal show with dancing seals and dolphins..these are banned now in Canada. But kids loved it.

Wie immer nutzte ich die Zeit um zu stöbern und mir Fische anzuschauen. Bei den Pflanzen bin ich zu erst fündig geworden und ich wurde sofort bedient und meine Fragen sofort hilfreich beantwortet. Als meine Frau dann Fragen zu Fische & Co. hatte wurden wir sehr ausfürlich und fachkundig beraten, sodass ich mich sehr gut dort aufgehoben gefühlt habe! Ich kann diesen Laden nur empfehlen und daher bekommt er auch 5 Sterne!!!

Nice aquarium with a good variety of fish. The aquarium isn’t that big but you could spend a good hour looking around. It was quite busy when we visited so had to wait our turn to see some of the tanks. The student ticket is a very good price!
One should experience this atleast once in life. It's funny, exciting, and entertaining to watch. When I watched, there was a show with Seals before the Dolphin show. Thoroughly enjoyed. Kids will love this for sure. Good seating arrangement available, can be enjoyed as a Picknik spot with entertainment
Expected only aqua animals hence the name, except there were also quite some other animals (Insects, lizards and such) available, also some history of sea travel and information about the ocean (and the future of the ocean)

A great place to visit, was in the holidays and weather was poor so a lot of people had same idea, too many within the museum so couldn’t really enjoy the aquarium sections, any other time though I expect would have been much more enjoyable, need translation tech or a translator if don’t speak German as no foreign signage on exhibits other than Deutsch
Die Aquarien sind immer sauber und sehr oft kann man die Fütterungen mit ansehen. Hinten gibt es noch einen kleinen Zusatz mit Leguanen, Anoli und Baumratten.

Freundliches Personal, sehr kompetente Beratung. Die Preise sind fair. War sehr zufrieden mit der Beratung/Verkauf für die Ersteinrichtung meines Aquariums. Für Aquarianer und solche die es werden wollen, sehr zu empfehlen.
Am vergangenen Samstag hatten wir einen Goldfisch gekauft und dafür 21,90 bezahlt, wir wollten nicht das Angebot wahrnehmen 5 Fische für 50 EUR zu erwerben. Das war Samstag um 16.00 kurz vor Feierabend. Uns bediente ein älterer sehr kleiner Mitarbeiter, nicht sonderlich freundlich. Am Wochenende hatten wir dann überlegt nachträglich doch dieses Angebot wahrzunehmen und fuhren direkt Montag wieder hin, wollten die restliche 4 Goldfische kaufen und dann die Differenz bezahlen zu den 50 EUR. Der gleiche alte Mann bedient uns wieder, ich hatte ihm dies vorher so geschildert. Er sagt uns, wir dürfen keinesfalls die Fische wählen, für diesen Preis müsse er eine Gruppe von schönen und nicht so schönen Fischen zusammenstellen....wie bitte...egal. Er fängt 5 Fische und verlangt 50 EUR...wir sagten wir wollten doch nur 4 und dann quasi die Differenz von 21,90 zu den 50 EUR bezahlen...nein, das ginge nicht...wegen Kassenabschluß. Komisch nur, das wir am Samstag gar keine Quittung erhalten haben....?? Er wurde pampig und wir haben Nichts gekauft. Diesen ansonsten auch sehr teuren Laden, ob Pumpen, oder was auch immer, alles ist teurer als im Internet oder der Konkurrenz werde ich nicht mehr betreten.

You had to find different stations where you would learn interesting facts and then you are able to use an iron hand operated stamp to tick off the section. The stamps differ between multiple different sea creatures. The facts very interesting and stamping was fun for the children. At the shop they were rewarded with an activity book and a bracelet. Definitely worth a visit during the holidays.

I would advise to go to the bathroom at the entrance as the nearest bathroom is only in the middle of the 'Rundgang' and then again at the exit. Otherwise you have to turn around and go back against the traffic which might be a bit difficult when there are many people. The bathrooms were clean.

Es war schön hier zu sein. Die Ferienzeit mit den Kindern und deren immer wieder erstaunten Ausrufen haben wir genossen.
The biggest zoo ever I’ve been to. They have a quite huge variety of animals. Tropen-Aquarium is nice to have but not necessary if you’re not interested in reptiles. It’s quite crowded in the afternoon, so I would recommend to get there before 10am if you want to have more room.
The spaces available for the brown bear, polar bear, tiger and lion to move around is absolutely SMALL!! Yet, they build an enormous space for Guinea pigs?? I wouldn’t visit again. You could see the animals pacing here and there. There’s a need to recognise the mental distress cause to the animals due to small area to move around, in consideration of the typical amount of space they move around in the wild. This also applies to the orang utan. It’s HORRIFYING seeing such limited amount of space they are able to move around. Imagine sticking at the zoo day after day, year after year. The tiger and brown bear looks absolutely skinny. With the rest of the animals above mentioned having poor skin and fur conditions. I doubt the animals are well taken care off.

Been there a couple of times, as good for a day out when the weather is wet and cold. Still not impressed that none of the information boards includes English translation. As far as I remember, you can rent an English audio, which isn’t very ideal when you’re with kids.
Dolphinarium is very nice, the performance of dolphins and sea lions was very nice.
We came here at around 12 and there was not much crowd got our tickets and then the fun started! Much bigger than expected and quite spacious a lot of sea life to see and explore

However, the price of admission is very high It's unfortunate to see small enclosures for big animals like bears, jaguars, and elephants. On the positive side, there is ample space for flamingos, bunnies, guinea pigs, alpacas, and other animals to freely move around. It's distressing to see many birds confined in small cages. The most disappointing aspect was that I couldn’t find capybaras (I spent a lot of time searching for them) despite reading reviews about them.

Im Eingangs Bereich die Schwimmpflanzen in Plastik verpackt in der vollen Sonne, Plastik war aufgebläht und die Pflanzen braun.

We visited last month and comparing to the expensive price it was a big disappointment.. Few Animals present and no elephant, no Giraffe, no Panda or any real exciting animal for kids. The lion and tigers were seen distressed and hidden. It was a very big beautiful park but a little disappointed regarding the animals we wished to see!! Aquarium costed extra if you want to go there which we skipped.
Next day we decided to visit the Safari few km outside Hamburg and there we had much more fun seeing the animals so close to our own car and could interact with them👍 Its better to go to Safari than spending money here if you wish to see unusual animals otherwise if you just want to spent a whole day 4-5 hrs with kids and no big expectations, then you can choose this zoo.
Next day we decided to visit the Safari few km outside Hamburg and there we had much more fun seeing the animals so close to our own car and could interact with them👍 Its better to go to Safari than spending money here if you wish to see unusual animals otherwise if you just want to spent a whole day 4-5 hrs with kids and no big expectations, then you can choose this zoo.

Wonderful zoo. Very peaceful and tranquil. Beautifully laid out. I had a very enjoyable afternoon here with my ten year old daughter. Highly recommended. Not too big and not too small.

Recommend it to all that have kids (one visit isn’t enough) and school tours.
Skeletons were very interesting. Could be great to put an actual photo of each animal next to their respective skeleton.
The restaurant next to museum was full and not giving anything except drinks!
Really needs a cafe with some simple food items.
The Aquazoo is in the center of a beautiful garden and great to walk around and perhaps picnic.
A bicycle rental or cart rental station can be a nice addition to this garden complex.
Suggestions to the museum:
-Needs more English information next to the stations.
-Having a science communicator going around and engaging with visitors
Perhaps in an animal suit even.
-Didn’t see a replica or a shell of Penguin egg. Can be nice to put the replicas or shells of the animals somewhere for kids to see the shape, color, size
-Perhaps a book section can be nice. Also putting a book related to each station next to it for kids to check.
Even a section for book sale.
-Stones section
Wasn’t that busy. Needs a science communicator to walk around and interact with visitors. Perhaps a stone replica for kids to touch, a smelly stone… can attract more attention.

Went there during the night of museums, the line was extremely long and we waited about an hour. However the museum itself was pretty cool, I loved to see the fish and learn about different sea animals. Not so sure about the penguins whether they have the most exciting life. They also had a backstage tour which was really informative.
Really really expensive - €29 & I did it all in 4 hours. I didn't buy any food in there because it was extortionate as well. Over 70 different animals. It's flat so easily walked round (there's a cool place to climb up for a high vantage though). I particularly enjoyed the Ice World. I can really relate to those walruses 🤣 and the penguins are delightful. Not much is written in English though and I'd no internet for translating. The orangutans & otters together also captivated me for ages. An elephant touched my hand with her trunk 🐘😍 and the mandrill's bottom is like a beautiful 🌈

Aquarium is quite small but nice. In the beginning it was more like a museum than aquarium, but later on it got better. It is definitely too expansive for what it has to offer. Hence the three stars.
There was only one ray and one sea turtle. The bird section is quite nice, kids really enjoyed it.

Leider nur 2 Sterne. Beratung war okay aber die Art und Weise ging gar nicht. Hatte gesagt dass ich Anfänger sei und Hilfe und Beratung brauche. Und leider wurde ich nur pampig und schroff belehrt. Ich fühlte mich sehr unwohl und herablassend behandelt.

This place is so nice for people of all ages! My teenagers were thrilled and we, grownups, liked it very much. It’s so well done. It’s a nice experience! And if you pay the photo pass, you get your picture taken and they give you very nice memories at the end that you can download and keep them on your phone!
It's very small, people working at the cashier are absolutely not friendly. The prices are really outrageous....

This aquarium is absolutely brilliant. Visited with my husband, sister, brother in law and nephew on a visit from Australia and it was a real highlight! Positioned next to the North Sea with a cafe attached that has a panaromic view while you eat, this is a must visit! Staff lovely and the gift shop was wonderful.
Sehr freundlich, vor allem kompetent und hilfsbereit. Ich habe sowohl Hardscape als auch Pflanzen und Fische hier gekauft und alles gedeiht auch nach 6 Wochen noch prächtig. Keine Ausfälle, keine Krankheiten oder unerwünschte Tierchen wie Schnecken oder Planarien, die richtige Beratung (auch telefonisch) und verantwortungsvolle Hinweise zum Wohlergehen des Ganzen. Der Laden sieht zwar sehr chaotisch aus, aber ich will da ja nicht wohnen 😁👍 Vielen Dank!

One of the best places in Europa to see real dolphins. There are several presentations each day, where live presentations are held. Amazing tricks are shown and explained. Perfect for children to see real dolphins in action. There is also an underwater part, where you can see the dolphins from the bottom of the water tank.
Small but beautiful under water life. We were lucky to see the sea dogs display. Beautiful place
For what seems like a small building they do really pack a lot in for you to see! There are lots of things to look at including a whole room with fossils and creatures that haven't evolved much (like horseshoe crabs). The seal tank was a favorite as you can see the seals swim against the glass and then go to the top of the aquarium and see them from the top playing in the water. Our whole family enjoyed it and already our children are asking when we can go again.

Although the price was a little steep, they do have quite a large selection. The place was clean and the animals seem like they are well taken cared for.
This zoo is one of the best... Plenty of space , animals are not held behind electrics fences... Also products and services in the zoo are not that overpriced and I really like that

We enjoyed the dolphin show, also the rest of the zoo was nice and clean. There are bronze statues of the animals near their pens, which is a nice detail. However, some of the animals looked terribly skinny. I hope they are feeding them properly.
The zoo is a bit far away from the city, nevertheless it is possible to reach it by bus number 43 and 45.

It was a fun experience on that Sunday morning for us. The aquarium wasn't crowded we could spent lot of time at each station. Luckily we got to see the SeeHunde show where the feed them, play some games like rings & football,etc. Penguins, also, are very cute ! Only 1 drawback is the information is not in english so we could not understand most of it, otherwise overall experience was good !
