Many a time I have sat at this little circle in the sand
It is in the middle of a neighborhood, so I parked on a side street and walked in. It doesn't tell you exactly where it is located but if you head to the left about 1/4 mile down on the ground is a round plaque ( Easy to miss ). The history was amazing and the view with wildlife was fantastic. Great little bit of hidden history
Very cool monument to history. If you want to learn more I recommend the book "The Great Desert Escape". The Arizona Military Museum apparently also has some info about it. I haven't been yet but plan on it for the future.
Found a bunch of scrap bike parts and a broken meth pipe scattered all over the path from a thieving tweaker. Someone should have bought a better lock. There's tweakery afoot in the neighborhood.
