Overall a great night out at this restaurant.
The service and staff were very kind and quick.
The atmosphere was good, small and close together but didn’t feel crowded. Also have some nice design.
The AYCE menu had a lot of great options. For AYCE sushi this is one of the better ones I’ve had for sure. My favourite are the honey mustard role, poke bowl roll and salmon roll. The sashimi quality was good, not great. The aburi sushi had stuffing which I thought was great. The other signature rolls were great too.
I believe it was the tataki that came in fancy presentation, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the taste, but certainly looked great.
Beef was great! We had a lot of those.
Desserts had a lot of options, my favourites were the sake tiramisu, and matcha ice cream.

Staff was friendly and helpful, service was prompt after ordering. The menu was fairly large for AYCE, and using pencil and paper as opposed tavlets was a welcome throwback. Fried and grilled choices were tasty, and the specials were at least interesting.

Sadly, the sushi itself was bland, each piece tasting almost the same of the last, save for those with garlic, which tasted like, well, garlic.

In addition, the draft beer was awful. Not the beer's fault. It tasted like the tap system hasn't been cleaned since the place opened.

Can't complain about the price, because it seems in line with every other AYCE place, but the money is probably better spent elsewhere.

My friend and I chose KAKA All You Can Eat for my birthday celebration, intrigued by its downtown location and upscale reputation. As a first-timer, I was curious but left with mixed feelings.

Firstly, the ordering process felt outdated. Unlike other modern Japanese eateries that use tablets, KAKA relies on QR codes and manual entry (writing our orders down on piece of papers with pencil), making it harder to track orders. This aspect could definitely use some digital upgrading. The ambiance also needs attention. The booth seating, ripped and worn, alongside damaged booth separators, detracted from the upscale experience one would expect from a downtown location. Considering the price point, these are areas ripe for renovation.

Regarding the food, the sushi was underwhelming. The rice was notably dense, lacking the delicate balance essential in good sushi. Additionally, we felt rushed. After our initial order, we were informed we only had 30 minutes left, despite not overordering. This pressure, combined with the slow arrival of food, dampened the celebratory mood.

A significant letdown was the fried food. The reused oil was evident in the taste, prompting us to cancel subsequent orders. The desserts brought mixed feelings. The mango tiramisu deviated from traditional tiramisu, being more akin to sponge cake with cream. The sake creme brûlée tasted weird, the green tea and earl grey creme brûlée were decent but nothing special. However, the Kaka Ice Cream and a special birthday dessert were the only delights.

The highlight were the staffs efforts for my birthday surprise. Their effort in bringing out a special dessert, singing, and creating a festive atmosphere was truly heartwarming and salvaged the overall experience.

In summary, KAKA has potential but requires significant improvements. From modernizing the ordering process to renovating the interiors and revising the menu, there's much to be done. The staff's spirit was commendable, but the establishment needs to step up its game to compete with other high-end all-you-can-eat Japanese restaurants.

Overall the experience was just okay, would probably not come back. There is a TIME LIMIT & ORDER LIMIT to the all you can eat buffet which is weird.

Some of the food were delicious and during the second part of our orders, the service was faster. The servers quickly took new orders and removed old plates which were great.

However, none of the reviews informed us that there was a time limit and order limit. We were only there for maybe an hour (including the time it took for our food to arrive), and as we were trying to finish the savory food on our table, we took a break and got some dessert. Some items were also not served despite our follow-ups (kimchi fried rice and I think the uni). Then maybe 5-10 mins after that we were informed that they were taking the last order for our table.

Just felt a bit weird and quite rude considering the nature of this restaurant - all you can eat.

With mom at a Christmas party, I took the kids downtown for a sushi feast at KAKA AYCE. Gotta say, it was an alright experience overall.

Let's start with the sushi situation. The portions were, well, on the smaller side. Nothing too mind-blowing in terms of flavors; it didn't really stand out from the sushi crowd. It was okay, but it didn't quite hit that "wow" mark for us.

However, credit where it's due—the service was top-notch. The staff made sure we were taken care of, which definitely added a silver lining to our dining experience.

In summary, KAKA AYCE left us with mixed feelings. While the sushi portions were smaller and didn't exactly steal the show taste-wise, the excellent service did make a difference. It might be a decent spot for a casual sushi outing, especially if you're looking for downtown convenience. But if you're seeking standout flavors and generous portions, you might want to explore other sushi joints in the area.

As a first-timer in Toronto, straight from Boston, I had the pleasure of exploring the local dining scene, and I must say, this sushi spot was a highlight! We opted for the all-you-can-eat sushi, and it did not disappoint. The variety and amount of food we got were simply astonishing. It was a feast for both the eyes and the palate!

The quality of the sushi was top-notch – each piece was a delightful combination of fresh flavors and perfect texture. But the experience didn’t just stop at sushi; the desserts were equally impressive. We indulged in a variety of sweet treats, each more delicious than the last. The photos we took hardly do justice to how amazing everything looked and tasted.

This place is definitely worth every penny. Not only was the food incredible, but the staff also made our experience even more enjoyable. They were friendly, attentive, and the service was exceptionally quick. It’s a clean, welcoming place, perfect for a family meal or a casual hangout.

We had an amazing time here and it’s a definite must-visit for anyone in Toronto. I know for sure that this will be my go-to spot every time I’m back in the city with my family. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an exceptional sushi experience!

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The sushi selection is nothing short of amazing. Fresh, high-quality ingredients are beautifully presented in a wide variety of rolls, sashimi, and nigiri. I've never been disappointed with their offerings. The creativity in their specialty rolls is a true testament to their culinary expertise. What sets Kaka apart, besides the incredible food, is the impeccable service. The staff is attentive, friendly, and always ready to help you with the menu.
