Much different now that the homeless are not there. Felt safe and it was a good atmosphere. Loads of standard tacky beach front shops. Some good eateries along the way.

Beautiful beach with promenade and tons of activities. Just a great place to relax and people watch. Lots of interesting folk and not a lot of homeless people when we went. Recommend renting a bike or scooter and riding along the paths.

Venice Beach is a vibrant coastal neighborhood in Los Angeles known for its iconic boardwalk, lively atmosphere, and eclectic street performers. It features a famous skate park, Muscle Beach gym, and a mix of artsy shops, making it a popular destination for both locals and tourists.

Venice Beach is very well known for its skate, surf, and beach culture. You can find bodybuilders pumping their muscles, skateboarders, and lots of people enjoying the beach while sunbathing. The Venice district is inspired by the Italian city "Venice" because of its unique canals. They are almost as old as the city itself and still offer a place to admire the picturesque views.

First time coming here, and it was a beautiful experience. The sand is soft, tons of people chilling on the sand and playing in the water. You can relax here by yourself or have fun w the family or w friends. I came here w my bf and it felt so romantic.

Disclaimer: Venice is not for everyone. I’ve been to most of LA’s famous beaches but while the others were predictable, Venice was a SURPRISE. You see skaters, basketball players, and bodybuilders. You see artists, ice cream lovers, surfers and divers. Everyone is in Venice.
I’m someone who doesn’t go to crowded areas unless I have the energy for it. So if you’re like me, and you have the time AND the energy for an evening, go to Venice. See the crazy things and enjoy the chaos.
I personally did not get out of the house for the next two weeks because it was an overload of sensory stimuli, hahaha.

Highly recommend this boardwalk and beach if you are in LA. It’s only 20-30mins from downtown, peaceful, and has good restaurants around!

We enjoyed the sunset here and had dinner at The Fig Tree!

There is plenty of parking space, and board walk is nice place to enjoy evening walk!
