I watched this with interest. After that I re-watched the full opera on opera classic from theatre real. I think there is no substitute for the real thing (with subtitles), despite the performance was not bad. Pity no ticket available at the opera house during my time in Venice, I would have paid twice to see a full opera.

We watched this company perform Barber of Seville about 6 years ago in Venice. It was magnificent! It was one of our greatest experiences of a live show ever! The setting, the performances could not be bettered. We saw the company in London the next year and they did not disappoint! We love this company.

What a great concept for opera lovers, amateurs or beginners. To be so close & intimate to the talent. It's not the most famous singers but extremely professional and beautiful talented singers. Sooooo worth it. All the most famous arias and excellent musicians- all around a fabulous experience..

We saw the barber of seville here whilst on our trio to venice.it was brilliant. Each act was in a different room.the actors included members of the audience in this unique production.

Down a dark alley not far from the Maria del Giglio vaporetto stop is a very unassuming door and a small sandwich board sign leading us to the waiting area for the palazzo. There is a large space that may have been used to repair gondolas in past centuries and a small house dock that is dark. There is seating for about 10-15 people in the waiting area which is reasonably comfortable.

The doors opened promptly and we were led up a marble staircase to the first floor, the upper doors opening into a large room where the first act was to be. We registered very smoothly, received our "membership card" and found seats. While it was not a particularly warm night, it was humid and the small AC units were perfect for being comfortable.

The performance was excellent. I can use quite a few other adjectives, but this will suffice. The trio accompaniment was excellent, and being a small venue, no amplification needed which made it that much more interesting. The singers performed and interacted with the audience, putting on a phenomenal performance. All four of them had strong voices and the tenor reverberated throughout the palazzo.

For the second act, we were fortunate to sit right next to the piano so we had a front-row, almost-sitting-in-their-laps view of the musicians and the singers were between one and five feet away for almost the entirety of the act. The acoustics in the rooms were very good, and being that close did not diminish the performance in the least. It was extremely interesting to see performers of this caliber ply their craft so close.

Whether you enjoy opera or not, watching this performance was truly a treat for any lover of music. When we return to Venice, we will certainly book one of the other operas, it was a wonderful evening.

If you're coming to Venice, you have to do this.

Split into three scenes in different rooms with two 10min intervals it is just breathtaking.

To see opera infront of you is something special.

My 12yr old son really enjoyed it.
