Sehr schönes Restaurant mit nettem Personal. Die glutenfreie Pizza schmeckt auch sehr gut :)

First day in Venice after 3 days in Rome and 2 days in Florence. We stumbled upon this place after we tried to get into 2 other restaurants that were full and would not have a table for us this evening. Mussels and Clams appetizer was the best dish we had, and loved it. Bruschetta was average. Caprese salad was not good, when comparing to the ones we had in Rome and Florence the past 5 days. I am not even sure the tomatoes were Italian and had a texture like they were grown in a greenhouse back in the States. Wife got the pasta Bolognase and said it was fair. Daughters got Lasagna and a Filet. Lasagna was pretty good, but steak was over cooked and not as tender as she had in Florence. I got the grilled langoustines. They were not the quality that I was expecting. They really did not seem fresh. Service was very good, and the wait staff was very friendly. I feel as though this was one of those tourist traps that we were warned about in Venice.

The Carlo Goldoni theater is the oldest theater in Venice still existing today, and the fourth oldest in the city, after the Michiel Theater, the Tron Theater and the San Moisè Theater. It was built by the Vendramin family in 1622, from which it took its name. The inauguration of the theater, also known as San Salvador and San Luca, took place in the autumn of that year, with a show by the "Gli Accesi" Company. For the first 30 years only comedy shows were staged. In 1653, then, a terrible fire destroyed it. After being rebuilt, and having gone through various vicissitudes, including numerous changes of ownership, in the mid-18th century, Antonio and Francesco Vendramin succeeded in hiring Carlo Goldoni, offering him a rich engagement, as well as allowing him to deal directly with the owner, to whom he delivered his plays, which were paid to him immediately, even before being read. Among the various directors of the modern era, we remember the unforgettable and memorable Giorgio Gaber. Today it is home to the Teatro Stabile del Veneto "Carlo Goldoni", directed by Alessandro Gassman. Many famous actresses and actors have acted in this theater, and it is the same today. The theater is well maintained, everything is neat and the atmosphere is wonderful. This modern theater is located near the Rialto Bridge in the historic center of Venice, in the Calle del Teatro o de la Commedia.

Awesome! Arlecchino and the magic ring was great. They even had subtitles) and the actors communicated with public and improvised, it was really nice.

Sehr schönes Haus, für ein Theater sogar ein bisschen feudal. Angenehme Atmosphäre.

A must visit for anyone interested in commedia dell'arte or even theater in general. You can get cheaper tickets if you buy them in the afternoon of the day of the show. They're also very child friendly and offer excellent price deals for kids.

Loved it. We saw a theatre show on Italian language and on the top of the scene there was English and French subtitles which was great for the people from the other countries
