Came by to see Kate and was IN LOVE with the results. She gave me the iciest, most perfectly beautiful blonde I’ve been wanting for so long! The space is so welcoming and warm, definitely a hidden gem. I’m obsessed. Will be coming back to Kate and Hawthorne for all my blonde needs!

I went to this beauty of a space to get my grays covered with Kate! She was so sweet and knowledgeable. She guided me in the right direction. She clearly is a master at her craft because grays are covered! The space and Kate have such a nice calm energy. I highly recommend Kate.

If you're looking for a hairstylist, I urge you to go to Kate Werner. Kate first started doing my hair sixteen years ago. I still go to her for both cuts and color. Kate is great at helping you find a look that works well for YOU, with a little bit of New York style and edge to it. She's also very helpful with giving suggestions when you aren't sure what to try next. She's been giving me years of beautiful cuts and color. Most recently, we've been playing with longer lengths and lighter shades of blond, and I'm loving it. She's also lovely, fun company, and I always look forward to seeing her. Give Kate a try, and very soon you'll be one of those people who are immediately associated with having "great hair."

Garrett has impeccable taste which is reflected in the decor and his work. I always look forward to my sessions as it's such a pleasant experience. The space is incredible and he's a joy as a conversationalist. This wouldn't matter if he weren't a great stylist, but he's extremely skilled and very present and focused when working. I can't imagine it getting any better.

I’ve been getting my haircut with Garrett for about six months and highly recommend him. Garrett starts off each appointment with a consultation, and takes his time on my hair, frequently checking in to make ensure that I’m happy with the style of the cut. The vibe of the salon feels high end without feeling pretentious. The online booking process for Hawthorne makes it very easy to schedule an appointment, even after hours. My last haircut was in his recently expanded salon on a different floor in the same building, and the space is pretty incredible. Overall a wonderful experience.

I have been going to Garrett for about 7 years and it’s been quite a long journey. When I first saw Garrett my hair had been badly damaged by a very high end Chelsea salon as they used too high value color on my virgin hair. Garrett nursed my hair back to health and would not let me color again until he felt my hair could handle it. Fast forward 7 years, I’m still seeing Garrett and have followed him around the city until he finally opened his own beautiful studio. Garrett is such a pleasure to see. He’s so friendly and kind. He’s got great taste but most importantly he gives an amazing haircut and really understands hair and how to give you the look you’re going for. I’ve referred lots of friends and most of my family including my husband and brother-in-law (I didn’t realize he was so awesome with men’s haircuts) and nobody can turn back. I only wish my hair grew faster so I could see him more often. I highly recommend Garrett and his studio Hawthorne. If you’re looking for a big salon this is not your place. If you’re looking for a unique, friendly and chill, boutique experience with talented stylists then this is your place.
