Going back to this place in the summer. Took the kiddo and he loved it. Beautiful scenery.

This is an awesome place to explore. No dogs allowed. The gate to drive to the black rocks area is only open at certain times of the day. So be sure to plan accordingly or you will have to walk quite a ways.

What an interesting place! We went the first weekend of October. It's not a time to swim however, great time to explore. We had so much fan scrambling over rocks, looking at the little pools, and watching the waves. Great place to enjoy nature!

Jumping off of the cliffs into Lake Superior was one of the favorite memories from our trip to the U.P.! The road around the coast is one way and the best place to park for this activity is a hard right turn that sneaks up on you. If you miss it like I did, there is another lot just past it. Be prepared for COLD water and what it does to your body/breathing. My 12 year old son jumped, but I almost jumped in to help him when I saw the shock and confusion on his face when he came to the surface. Obviously the coast is beautiful, and in hindsight I wish we would have had more time to spend here. Next year it will be a major part of our planning. Jump Safely!

This was our first time visiting the UP and Black Rocks is a must! It is absolutely amazing! Perfect spot to spend the day with family. Pack a picnic lunch. They have some nice picnic shelters in the park. My family had tons of fun jumping off the tall cliffs into beautiful crystal clear water.

We are here on a windy, chilly August day. Good for photos. Great park with trails that follow the water's edge. There's a one-way driving route with stupid along the way, but it has restricted hours; walking is better and more scenic anyways.

Absolutely amazing! These rocks are over 2 billion years old, the oldest in the history of planet earth. A wonderful spot to spend the day jumping off the rocks into 20 feet of crystal clear water. Visit Monday through Friday, because the one-way road is closed to vehicular traffic on Saturday and Sunday.
