Came here for the aurora views and saw much more. This area can be a walk in when the park closes the road For vehicles. Check the schedule on their web site. Plenty of seating and walking.

Beautiful scenery, great park!
Such a beautiful place to watch the sunset. I can see why it has the name. Definitely worth the drive. Best spot was to the left of the parking lot. No hiking necessary.
My wife and I got to the point about 45min before the sunset. This evening the waves where crashing against the shoreline. Even though its summer, it was cooler sitting by the water. Great spot to enjoy the beautiful sunset and the water views!
Great lil hike with the family. Saw deer. Climbed on snow. Slipped on snow... Beautiful lil family outing spot.
For those of us from the lower peninsula the UP is like another country - hilly and nearly mountainous, a coniferous forest of splendor with bears to boot.
