Awesome theater experience. Cool bar upstairs, and nice comfortable seats in the theatre. The food is really good, as is the service. Only issue is that the place isnt labelled from the outside.

Completely disgusting experience at this theatre. Singled out and discriminated against by a waiter to show my ticket once I had sat down. It was dark and I didn’t know where I had put my ticket and he asked me to step outside and also threatened to kick me out if I opened up any of the snacks I bought in. I didn’t know it was against cinema policy to not bring in your shopping. Mind you I didn’t plan on opening any of my snacks. Should I have gone home and dropped my groceries off first before coming to the movies?

I stepped outside and tried to look for my ticket and at the same time explained to the waiter the security upstairs had already checked my ticket how else would I have got in. He called the manager down and I asked him to verify my ticket purchase any other way. By this point I was getting agitated as I was well aware I was missing the movie.

I FINALLY found my ticket in my grocery bag. I wasted my time, money and didn’t even want to continue watching the film anymore. The manager eventually offers me a refund and explains the policy is that the waiters can check tickets in the cinema. Did I see them check anyone else’s tickets?!? NO. Absolutely incompetent and rude staff.

AVOID AT ALL COST.

Cool theatre! Perfect date spot or even to just watch a movie with family or friends. Food and drinks brought to your seat!

Part of Kim’s Videos VHS collection lives here! Worth it just for that. There’s also great theatrical and repertory programming. Incredibly comfortable seats. Great sound system. It can be a little overwhelming to have servers walk through the aisles dropping off food and drink, but the staff is very quick. New development: Alamo now uses red buttons that illuminate on your seat when pressed—they signal to the waiter that you want to order something during the movie. That way the waiter will be able to see the request without difficulty and also they can then spend less time in the aisles checking to ensure nothing has been missed.

So first off I want to state that the initial server was great. He was attentive and explained how everything worked since it was our first time there. So now the bad: they messed up our order. The seats are not that comfortable since the back does not really move forward. Lastly the table is too far upfront and you can't move it closer. So you're basically eating with the food in your lap. For the price, it's just not worth it. But I can imagine it being a real cool experience if you're going there to just drink during the movie and not eat.

From the moment I walked into Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, I was reminded of what makes movie-going such a cherished pastime. This establishment is not just a cinema—it's an experience. Here's why:

1. Atmosphere: The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between classic cinematic nostalgia and modern comforts. The dim lighting, artfully chosen movie posters, and well-maintained theaters make for a perfect backdrop for any film lover.

2. Quality Viewing: The state-of-the-art projection and sound systems ensure an immersive experience, and the seating is both comfortable and thoughtfully arranged. No more craning your neck or being obstructed by taller folks in front!

3. Unique Offerings: What sets Alamo apart is its special events, from themed movie nights to director Q&As and vintage film screenings. It's evident that this place is run by movie enthusiasts, for movie enthusiasts.

4. The Dining Experience: The “drafthouse” part of the name is not to be overlooked. With an extensive menu of delicious dishes and drinks delivered discreetly to your seat, this cinema offers a full dining experience. The staff is well-trained to ensure minimal disruption during the film, and the quality of food rivals that of dedicated restaurants.

5. Respectful Etiquette: Another refreshing aspect of Alamo is its strict policy on cinema etiquette. This means no texting, talking, or any other disruptions. It's a haven for those who genuinely appreciate films and want an environment free of distractions.

6. Friendly Staff: The staff at Alamo are knowledgeable, passionate, and clearly love what they do. Their enthusiasm is infectious, making the entire experience even more enjoyable.

In conclusion, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is not just about watching a movie; it's about celebrating the art of film. Whether you're a casual viewer or a hardcore cinephile, Alamo offers an unmatched movie-going experience. I can't recommend it enough!

Besides the good food and the reclining seats, the servers and cleaners also made up the whole Alamo experiences.

First time to this lower manhattan Alamo and I’m loving it. Its not just a lot spacious, they also have a bar and merch store too.

( can Alamo introduce caramel / kettle popcorn on the menu please !!?!? )
