This lighthouse was the first one we visited , and we got to go inside. I think the reason is that it's privately owned. There's a $5 fee per person to explore and go all the way to the top. If I'm not mistaken, this is the tallest lighthouse in Washington State. There was a short way to get to the top due to only one group at a time, thers someone up top to ask any questions when you get there. The views from the top are awesome and well worth the fee and time to climb those stairs. Also there's a little gift shop to the right of the lighthouse when you ever where you pay for your tickets and get a suvinere if you want. I highly recommend visiting this lighthouse base only of that fact that you get to enter, explore, and go to the top. Not to mention all the other reasons.

If you like lighthouses this is definitely one of the more accessible ones and usually open to climb. It is one of the tallest in Washington.

One negative thing, if you plan to climb with a little child. They need to carried up with a chest carrier instead of a backpack carrier.

Definitely worth a stop if you're into lighthouses or really amazing coastal views. But like most lighthouses, it can be a punishing climb to the top.

We went on a beautiful fall day (early October) and got some great photos. It can be a little touristy here in the summer, but it's far enough out on the coast that it doesn't get super busy out here very often.

Also check out the lighthouse museum in Westport as well as the beaches and some great restaurants!

Tallest lighthouse in WA state. Interesting history. Lighthouses rock. Support them, pay the measly 5 bucks and go up to the top, well worth it. Closed to the public December through January.

The lighthouse is an interesting piece of local history. The attendent was knowledgeable and informative -- not to mention friendly. It was worth the short visit. The whole visit is 30 to 60 minutes depending on how many plaques you read.

I love lighthouses. This is an oldie, no longer in operation, with a 3rd order lens. It's unique, atleast to me, because of it's cupped shell shape. You can climb to the top and get a great history from the docent. The docent is not only knowledgeable, but passionate, and that makes a visit like this special.

$5 admission if you would like to get into the light house, and the guide explains anything you'd like to know about it. Most people simply take pictures from the outside, but it's worth it to experience from the inside. You're welcome to stay inside for as long as you'd like... Be respectful and don't touch the lens!
