It is one of the hundred hidden gems around Rome. St Cyril (св. Константин Кирил Философ) tomb is there so it is a sacred place to many of the Slavic nations. It is small and old, nothing like St Peter's basilica or the great baroque churches of Rome, but it is sacred. The actual tomb is on the excavation level below the ground where you need to pay 12 euros(10 euros for pre-booked visits) for a single ticket. There are not too many visitors so you don't have to worry about crowds. The church curators say in the tomb downstairs are preserved only a very small part of the saint's body remains and that most of them have been transported to the modern church on the upper floor, placed inside the crypt under the altar. Unfortunately, they are locked away from visitors.

Beautiful basilica with a unique underground tour experience. Well worth. Not crowded, that is so rarely for Rome in general. Highly recommended especially for Slavic people. You could find a tombstone of one of the Cyrillic alfabet creator.

This is an astounding site, where you can walk down through three eras of structures, down down into the pagan temple structure three levels down to the 2,000 year old floor. This is the best example of well preserved Rome Lasagne and not just ruins.
They control visitors so it wasn’t packed, so best to book your spot beforehand.
There are some nice surprises too, like ancient underground streams still flowing through the bottom of the structure in places.

A few minutes walk from the colosseum, a beautiful church with a charming little front square with a fountain. Inside you find beautiful art and Roman archaeology (the church is free to visit, but the museum is for a fee)

A unique experience for a visitor to Rome interested in the evolution of the city from the 1st century to 12th century , early renaissance and stages of architectural evolution in the medical age. It's close to the Colosseum and is a great place to beat the heat as it is always cool and nice. I would suggest going there with guide to help one understand and discover the tresure within. Be sure to book your tickets in advance as they limited to preserve the structure.

One of the overlooked gems of Rome. There are three levels below the basilica, which lead back to medieval and Roman times. The grave of St. Cyril - the creator of the Slavic alphabet - is definitely one of the highlights.
