I used to go to high school across the street from there in the 90’s at what is now Olive Elementary. There used to be an old building (maybe a packing house) right along the tracks. Unfortunately it burned down in the late 90’s. After it burned is when the marker was erected, if I’m not mistaken.
i've probably driven past this marker dozens of times over the years without even realizing it. it's at a busy intersection with minimal parking available. i stopped across the street and visited just for a few minutes to read what it said. i'm glad it's out on display and hope it doesn't get forgotten.
Can miss the small marker unless your stopped the traffic light.
Best marker in town!
Not much to tell. Just the history marker and nothing else. No parking around the immediate area so be careful.
