A visit to the Roman Fort Gate along the London Wall Walk is a remarkable journey back in time. Nestled amidst the modern city, these ancient ruins offer a poignant glimpse into Roman Londinium. The well-preserved remnants and informative plaques provide a concise yet powerful connection to the city's distant past. It's a quick stop that's heavy with history and well worth the visit for anyone interested in London's bygone eras. Highly recommended for a dose of history amidst the urban hustle.

This is a gentle walk, and the ruins are outstanding. So interesting to find these in an urban setting.

Beautiful remains from early London, from Roman days to the 19th century.
Some of the remains are cordoned off, but plenty are open to allow you to touch & interact with the remains.
Some display boards explain what you're seeing, but also some have no information at all.
Thoroughly enjoyable to visit.

A part of history still visible today there is surprisingly quite a bit of this wall remaining and able to be seen today I will be returning when I have longer to explore this area even more as I was only passing and didn't get to go through and around by the water where there is more remaining of the wall. There is a sign with some information about this but from the walkway above the sign has gone bad from the sun and no longer able to see what it says.

I enjoyed seeing the hiseod these walls. If you look closely, you can tell these are not the original walls as-is, but instead have had further construction on them over the centuries.

A remnant of 3rd.Century Roman Londinium forming part of the aggregate wall fortification fabric scattered about nearby.
Explanatory Heritage narrative boards map out the Fort’s approximate footprint with contextualisation.
This segment best viewed from the skywalk - more wall for your money.

Glad I found this, but a bit disappointing that it's mostly rebuild on the Roman site. Still an interesting landmark and nice that it can be viewed on the ground and from the raised walkway too.
