Excellent gov owned campground. We arrived at 12am on a Saturday and had no problem with our late night arrival, just had to check in by 10a that morning. The campground is clean, quiet and centrally located. All roads are paved and campsites are semi private with lots of trees surrounding each. Each campsite comes with a fire ring with a permanent grate, and a wooden picnic table. Bathrooms set around the campground, potable water throughout, dumpsters, a small amphitheater and two loops with one being for group camping. There are no showers on the grounds or sale of firewood, however, there are many places right outside of the campground promising just that. There is additional parking, spaces for tents, 5th wheels, RVs, guest parking and a dump station. We didn’t have many encounters with staff but when we did they were nice. Seems that if you are staying in the park, this is certainly is your best option in my opinion. Highly recommend.

Camped here 2 days with my daughter. Nice trails and beautiful ocean view off one trail!!
Camp rangers friendly and helpful. Campsite adequate will little brush between sites. Restroom clean, but no soap, only hand sanitizer.
No shower and showers right outside park were either very crowded or no hot water!!

This is one of our favorite campgrounds. We stayed in loop A and found it to be very private and beautiful. The short footpath to the ocean off the side of loop A is magical with the surrounding mossy green woods. Watching the waves roll into the craggy coastline was mesmerizing.

Stayed here for a week, and it felt like home. Unlike other campgrounds this place was quiet and everyone kept to themselves. I can't wait to come back next year. The lot sizes are great and the surrounding woods makes this campground stand out from others I have been to. The photos are taken at Loop B #93

Blackwoods campsites are not real spacious but it's comfortable enough. The key word is...location...location! This is where mountains reach the seas. Bathrooms are VERY well kept and they offer shuttle bus service to Bar Harbor. I love it there and visit each year...never disappoints

This is probably the prettiest campground I've ever been to. The whole park is in a very quiet and well preserved pine forest by the coast and you really feel the peacefulness that you want when camping. Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly, and the location is very close to Bar Harbor, Cadillac Mountain, and other nice points of interest. I went tent camping here a few times and I loved every minute. There is a short walking trail that takes you directly from the camp to the coastline. At night the stars are absolutely incredible. Each camp site is good-sized and has a fire pit and a picnic table. The fire pits I've seen there also have a built-in metal grate that can be swung on or off the pit to place cooking pans, skillets, etc on.
The camp does have bathroom buildings at convenient points throughout, but no showers in the campground. For showers, there is an independent business just a minute or so up the road that has coin-operated shower facilities, and you can also buy firewood there.

Nice quiet woodsy campground. Sites are bigger. You have some privacy but can see your neighbor. Trail by Loop A to see a view of the Atlantic Ocean. We use Google for internet on our phones and had 4-5 bars so the kids loved staying at this campground. Great trail access too.
