Beautiful area but if you come make sure you know all the details. It has a great white sand swimming beach but has no lifeguards. You swim at your own risk. The swimming beach is all the park has to offer. It has a small parking lot. The park doesn't let additional people in if it seems they are at capacity. Check ahead if you want to come. There is no path from the campground to the beach so you have to drive. There is the campground, a lake, and then the beach. The lake has signs for alligators so be careful. If you love sandy beaches and are familiar with rip currents and ocean safety then this is a park you may want to visit.
We did not have time to walk on the trails or see the lake. But the campground gets one star because reserving my site online didn't work and I wasted an hour trying to do that. I ended up calling and reserving a site only to regret the site I reserved because I did not realize you can't drive into all the tent sites. We got there at like 7pm and just stayed for an overnight. The pit toilets were not the best either. Some people showed up at midnight and walked around close to our tent. We heard people leaving in a vehicle at 5am. I did not feel safe. I would not stay here again.
Nice quiet woodsy campground. Sites are bigger. You have some privacy but can see your neighbor. Trail by Loop A to see a view of the Atlantic Ocean. We use Google for internet on our phones and had 4-5 bars so the kids loved staying at this campground. Great trail access too.
Would give this campground a 4.5 if I could. Great amenities including restrooms with flush toilets, soap to wash hands, and air dryers. They also have laundry, a playground, and a swimming beach on Eerie. The only addition I would like to see is a walking/biking path from the campsites to the restrooms with showers, laundry facilities, and to the the park office. Showers bathrooms are very clean.
Okay place to stay overnight. We drove for 7 hours and were tired. Neighbors were loud when they got back for hours after 10pm when we were trying to sleep. The campground has walking trails, camp store, boat access ramp to the lake, picnic areas, and a playground.
