Gate City Tavern never disappoints! First time I went was on my bday last year and they were doing Karaoke 🎤, LOVED IT! Plus they have sensible food options and prices! I did the $2 fish Tuesday and lost my mind!

I ordered via door dash for the first time today. I had fried Whiting, mac & cheese, yams, and collard greens that were among the best food I have ever eaten. Food is packed neatly and separately without spilling over. I will definitely order again in the near future.

The food was good. I got the gate city flavored wings and the $2 fish sandwich. This place needs to be cleaned up good on the inside. The staff was nice but they could use some training. I stood at the counter waiting to get my order taken while the ladies talked to their friends. Watched one guy take a bag of trash outside came back in fixed him a drink but didn’t watch his hands. Smh the staff kept going outside but no one would wash their hands once they got behind the bar. The glass doors were dirty empty boxes in the floor. Staff was unprofessional smh this is literally a hold in the wall.

I have been a customer at the tavern since it has opened back up and enjoy myself every time I’m there. The food is great, the atmosphere is second to none. Some times u just want to be around ppl that just love life and want to have a good time. The owners have made their establishment just that. Great job. Keep doing ur thing. U will forever have my support

I am new to the area and was introduced to this establishment by locals. I had an incident there where I was being antagonized by a mutual friend of the owners. I asked him several times to leave me alone, after being followed around by him, i went outside. I was asked to move my bike to let someone out. When doing so I dropped my bike. When I returned to where was standing the man walk over to me and stated “I am a child of God, see what happens when you do wrong by me and a lot more will happen “ at that point I pushed him out my face not to mention him smoking a cigar. He began to choke me and someone came from behind to help. I was labeled the aggressor and barred from there. I left the situation alone after talking to the owner and she explained her version… y say anything else. The food is nasty. I waited an hour for some wings that I gave up and left. The one bartender is rude and argues with the customers since January i have been there 5 times and 4 were horrible. There was never given a second chance to be there… she went off her friend but needless to say he is not barred. They have never had a problem out of me. So basically they allow women to be disrespected and punish the women for reacting.I just tell all my friends to come to House Divided… that’s the best place to be.

My first visit and everything was delicious. We did a variety of foods like hot honey wings, fried shrimp w/fries, fried pork chops w/ cabbage and mac and it was soooo good seasoned to perfection. Our server Ms Kay was awesome as well. I will be back asap!

This was maybe my fourth time coming here since they have been open. I keep coming back for the wings, especially the gatecity sauced wings. They are definitely some of the best in the city. And that’s where it ends. The cabbage looked and tasted like it came straight out of the can. The collards as well. And there’s no other way to say it but the Mac n cheese was nasty. Greasy and separated like it had been sitting out. Service is always pleasant, it has to Sped up some since the last time I was there. The only reason I’ll be back is to try their margarita tower and the wings of course.
