The pool is pretty. The expense food trucks is on the street of the mall. The park do have trash cans. It is right in front of the Captial. Some ducks do hang out in the water
I have been here a lot of times for Washington DC visit and some events held here. I love this Square, at both ends of which can be seen the Memorial Monument Obelisk and the Capitol Hill, and also many many museums with free entry around it. I have brought my son to visit one of them - The National Air and Space Museum of the Smithsonian Institution nearby and he loves it so much. We are to visit more and more until all! We will come again!
The reflection pool here in front of the capital has always been a great place to hang out after looking at the museums or federal buildings. Our kids always enjoy the water, and this time of year there are plenty of ducks and baby ducklings. It also offers a great view back down the mall and the capital building.
The DC metro is awesome. Are use the union square train stop to be able to go to the capital in the White House. It was amazing clean lots of people. Union Square is awesome.
Glad to see so many food trucks to compensate for all the smug EV drivers... Hey, do the math...follow the science. X^D

Really nice place. very crowded if its long weekend.try to visit in a regular days or weekend.
Plan for at least one day to tour around all the museums and memorial buildings. Or just sunbathe at the lush lawns. When you are hungry, you can buy any kind of food since there are food trucks lining on two streets in the Union Square.
But parking could be a big problem. We parked at Reach at JFK Center and walked over.
