Profressional and efficient
They're a little more in your business at this crossing. Unusually vigilant but reasonable. They follow the letter of the law so I can't complain, but out of 8 times crossing the border, this is the first time they searched me. Just an fyi for fellow travelers. You might wanna take a busier crossing to avoid the hassle.
Small, very different atmosphere vs big crossings, nice view from the bridge.
The agent at the desk was very helpful with the questions I had concerning ArriveCAN App.
Very friendly and helpful service. And one of the most beautiful border crossings I have ever seen.
This was the worst border and immigration officers officers I’ve ever encountered with!
On September the 5th 2019
I drove from NH was planing to go to Montreal for a night or two for the first time just to have some fun and shop.
When we get to the boarder we stop at the first Canadian check point and the guy was so rude! He asked questions and I asked him to repeat once or twice because I didn’t understand what he was saying then he got made and gave me angry look!!
Then he asked us to pull over and wait, we did and waited then another two officers came asked us the same questions again over and over and they checked and search the car we were driving for so long!
After word they asked us to get inside so that the immigration officer speak with us
We got inside and waited for around 45 minutes to an hour then the officer finally came to the counter and call our names rudely.
He started asking questions like a detector asking suspects and we were still fine to this point but he was so rude and when I tried to ask him a question nicely he shush me with putting his finer on his nose so rudely!!!
I was shocked and had to ask him to return our passports so that we return back home.
He asked us to sign forms indicate that we withdrew our Canada entry request.
I had a different idea about Canada and Canadian people and I thought that they were nice, friendly and respectful, but after my experience at the Canadian border I completely changed my mind because I believe that the custom, border immigration officers should represent their country and their people.
And of course I’ll share my experience with everyone I know.

We experienced the most pleasant border crossing experience at this border crossing station! The agent was very friendly and helpful, diligent in ensuring that our visit was genuine, and pleasantly welcoming. If you have a few extra minutes to drive through Derby Line and Stanstead, I encourage you to exit the highway and cross here!
