Gaithersburg MARC station makes traveling easy to and from Washington DC during rush hour. Brunswick Line trains stop here, but Amtrak and freight trains pass through. This is also a fun place to railfan.

Built in 1884 by the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad and has been in continuous service since. Currently a MARC stop.

A very adequate station for a commuter rail station that only has rush hour peak direction service. It has a waiting area, restrooms, air conditioning, and a machine to purchase tickets. The only downside is that the station building is on the northbound side, meaning that the majority of commuters will need to cross the tracks before boarding a train to DC. I was very surprised to see how clean it was, especially compared to stations like Rockville that are falling apart.

Great place to railfan

Good place to see trains. Nice staff. Awesome place to visit the museum. Also a terrific place to have fun.

There are places to relax and a museum. In the train station you can pick up some schedules or buy a ticket from a machine.

The Old Town Gaithersburg Train Station and Museum are a great local treasure. The sandwich shop is excellent. The museum is fun for kids and history buffs alike.
