Sam Brooks

We have been twice now to Sam Brook's bar and eaten lunch both times. I have to say, the food is really good and scrumptious. You get generous servings / portions too. It's freshly cooked and very tasty indeed.
The staff were friendly and catered for our alternative substitutes, eg sauces, nothing was too much trouble.
Prices are middle of the road, not too dear, especially as the portion sizes are generous.

There is wheelchair access and there are highchairs for children.
Did not use the toilet facilities but as the rest of the pub & restaurant is clean I am sure they will be too.
Good range of drinks at the bar, including hot drinks, eg, coffee, teas and hot chocolate.

Will go again.

I have been a couple of Saturday nights 1 was quiet the other busy. Both times the food was excellent and the service was good could have been a little quicker thing the order at the bar but I would definitely go again.

Had a lovely Christmas meal here, cannot fault the service or atmosphere. I eat here regularly and I've never had a bad meal. Staff are always very pleasant and friendly especially the landlord Kevin who always goes out of his way to make you feel welcome.

Kevin and his staff are always friendly and happy to help. Every meal I've had has alway been delicious and well worth the money. The chef & kitchen staff have always been happy to amend any of the dishes I ordered without any issues. Would highly recommend visiting this pub. Quiz night on Thursdays is always a fun night and the bingo on a Sunday night is also worth a try. Always a great atmosphere everytime I have visited.

Not been here for years, went yesterday for food, staff helpful and polite. Was told a short wait for food as 1 chef on, wait wasn't to long for our food. Food tasted nice and a good price. Will be back to taste more of the menu

Christmas Dinner today was ok
No mash potato No Yorkshire pudding. Brussels Sprouts were rock hard.and Some very pequliar Sprinkles on top. Dessert was tiny. Service was good. food was out in a timely manner. What we found really Strange after sitting down at 14.30. Was then to be told that the bar was Closed at 1500hrs.
With absolutely no pre-warning.
One rude staff member Said that she had to get home for her Christmas Dinner.
Lets Just hope she had an Alcohol Drink with her meal.

When you walk into the venue it’s a really lovely atmosphere full of families and refreshing to see a local pub so busy. However, this did not mimic our overall experience. As we were a party of 10+, the policy is to provide a preorder, which is accommodated. But, we then proceeded to wait an hour and a half for the food, with one family member waiting 2 hours! Defeating the hard work of collecting the preorder beforehand. The ‘Surf N Turf’ was asked for as a medium rare however came well done. We sent it back and waited another 15 minutes for the steak to caome back rare. In addition, the All Day Breaktast states sausages and eggs (plural) but only one of each provided. I asked to speak to the manager, who reluctantly came over after around 45 minutes after asking to speak to him. He was accommodating and said he would do his best for us when it came to paying the bill with removing food which wasn't pleasant and other discounts.
However, this did not compensate for the overall experience we had here and are very disappointed and upset with the service we recieved. This was for a birthday tea and were all left deflated and still hungry. Do not recommend!
