ING is not like what it’s in the Netherlands. I’m already waiting more than half a year for my card and details to use my account I opened and put money in, ridiculous. I hope to soon be able to take the money out and close the account.

I had the absolute pleasure of dealing in person with the staff at ING in Valencia this Saturday morning. I have been an online client of ING for over ten years now, after having grown tired of the endless queueing and fees in other Spanish banks, namely Bankia, Santander and BBVA. ING by comparison is like a breath of fresh air.
On arriving, an imposing yet very courteous security guard got a numbered ticket for me and guided me to a seat facing the screen where my number would be coming up, as soon as a teller was free. I waited for no more than five minutes and was then called over by the teller who attended me. She was elegantly dressed, friendly, helpful and extremely efficient. I was in shock, nothing I had experienced previously in the aforementioned banks had prepared me for this. In two minutes she'd taken care of everything, with no fuss, explaining each step as she worked. Why can`t all banks be like this?
Personally, I can't recommend ING highly enough, after having had years of excellent quality online service from them. Even this was surpassed I'd have to say, by the extremely organized, efficient and professional attention I received today.
Also the opening hours are double that of most other banks, they open late from Monday to Thursday from 8:00 until 19:30, Fridays from 8:00 until 15:00 and YES from 8:00 until 16:00 on Saturdays too, unheard of in Spain.
No need to take time off work and make appointments in advance, in the desperate hope that maybe one, probably complicated to arrange visit, might be enough, in the often inefficient and extremely bureaucratic Spanish banking system, to do what you need to get done. No other Spanish bank and I have dealt with many over the past 26 years, can come even close to the quality of service I experienced today. Well Done ING.
I see some people have given ING very poor ratings, based on having had to wait at peak times, fancy that, having technical problems with ATMs, or not being able to avail of the bank's services because they hadn't brought any identification. I'd like to say in ING's defence, that these types of issues are not unique to ING and if you go to any bank in Spain or anywhere else in the world for that matter, expecting to avail of their services without any identification, you're going to be disappointed, but it's not really fair to blame that on the bank.
Maybe you're the one who deserves the 1 star rating! The staff at ING are legally obliged to request ID for obvious security reasons, they were just doing their job correctly, no matter how upsetting you found it, really, it wasn't anything personal.

Horrible bank. They were ok in the beginning but now they have very poor service. They are not client oriented
When you call them you have to listen to 6 minutes of legal mumbo jumbo about the protection of data with no way to skip it

Excellent security guard, but very bad customer service. I waited for an hour for nothing and the number orders weren't coordinated well. The clerks on the counter who were supposedly serving us were either busy with their phones/computer with no one sitting on the tables, or doing chisme (gossip) with the others. I just couldn't believe it. They wouldn't help/serve you if you're not a client. I tried to pay my tax there, but got rejected just because my account was expired. I'd say ING bank can be better than other banks, but this time I'm just very disappointed.

Worthless bank if you're not the Spanish nationality or someone in your company is not. Does not support anything other than phone support, foreign phonenumbers, identification or anything else will not be accepted (or sometimes does, shows the inconsistency within the bank + app).

Uploading and processing of documentation is the worst I have seen within any company ever. Uploading files 10x times within a few months time, customer support claiming the files are indeed correct, files being rejected and account is being threatened to be closed, without any information on what's wrong or communication at all.

To conclude, horrible bank, doesn't care about customers, discriminates against foreigners ("The service is designed for residents only", when you are a resident) and tedious + unstable process means, stay as far away as possible.
