Detroit Zoo Safari Station

During the Detroit Zoo Senior Days the train ride is free, there are free guided tram rides, and zookeeper talks during the event.
They have this event twice a year

Be prepared for long walks. As so many exhibits to cover, but fun for children for all ages.

I worked at the zoo from 2008-2010 and it has changed so much since then! The new penguin exhibit is beautiful! The new food court is nice as well with a ton of different food options. Being there early was such a treat as aloy of enrichment with the animals are happening then! We got to see the penguins swin with divers and the chimpanzees were put as well we saw the baby! Such a fun experience! Love the detroit zoo! Also the staff was amazing so friendly and helpful!

Safe, clean environment, staff are good with the animals. Exciting place to go. We are grateful that the zoo is here in our great state of Michigan.

Fun little train ride on the Chrysler mini-train. Walk through the park, and take a one-way ride back to the gate. Or you can arrive hear first and walk back to front.
