Beautifully design, maintaining the classic concept, good lighting, awesome vibes outdoor indoor kinda concept.

The food from cafe is not too shabby, but also can be improved.

The food served did not meet my expectations. Ordered the smoked salmon scrambled egg, the cheese was placed on top of the egg and it was then probably microwaved. The poached egg taste like rubber while the half boiled egg was not up to par. Everything taste soso and the meal cost us rm100. Coffee latte was good. Service was nothing to shout about as well. Food looks good on picture.

The cafe is antique decorated. They served are few set menu choices which is worth for every penny spend. Food taste is nice. Service is good and staff is friendly. Environment is cozy. Overall experience is good.

Asian crispy rice crackers & duck salad - very special
Soup of the day (tomato soup) - nice

Main course:
Mushroom Aglio Olio - good portion
Chicken rendang burger - special taste

Overall good food & service with nice ambience.
Will come back again to try other food!

Totally worth 5 stars for my recent visit on 26 May 2019. Areca cafe is such a hidden gem adjacent to Areca Hotel, in the heart of George Town. They serve beautifully crafted cuisines offered at very affordable price! Just RM25 nett you could enjoy huge portion 3-course lunch meal! I must make another visit to try their signature pancake at breakfast hour :)

Every corner of this cafe & the hotel is so pretty! Happy to find this place for my ROM family lunch. I would like to specially thanks to their team member Joe and Lila for the great hospitality. From the very beginning of my reservation, they have been followed up attentively to arrange for my family lunch. They even specially prepared complimentary desserts for us in celebration of our ROM party. Love it!

Beautiful boutique hotel in the middle of Georgetown that also have a hide out cafe! Serves Malay+Indo food and also western food. Taste nod bad. Services are excellence! Very warm and welcoming. I love the ambiance of the cafe.

Food is nicely presentable, however the service is very bad for us on yesterday(31st Dec 2018), we have waited almost 30 to 45 mins only food started to served. For the set dinner, the sequences of the food is totally wrong, it starts with appetizer, dessert, soup of the day and main course took my friend to wait like almost 2 hours!!!!(because the waitress/waiter made mistake on the order, miscommunication problem) , for my another friend they got their main course first and then mushroom soup/soup of the day only served to them...this is so so wrong! Service is very slow/bad....taste of the food is acceptable, not very impress though...
