Really enjoyed my time in this apartment! I wish I could stay longer but I just didn’t want to make the 40-minute commute to work anymore. I stayed on the 8th floor in a studio and the apartment for a studio was so spacious for the cost. Covered parking was included in rent and for the amount of storms we have in Iowa, that is a huge perk! My only down side was there were some issues with the elevators while I was staying in the building but being on the 8th floor and parking on the 5th, it was never an issue for me personally. Staff was great and returned my security deposit quickly. Would recommend to anyone!

This was a really great place to live coming out of college and coming into my own as a young adult. Maintenance was always great. Shelby was always very accommodating. Lived 20+ floors up for 2 years and took hundreds of pics of the beautiful view (sunrise, sunsets, fireworks, boats, etc). I appreciated the private (mostly covered) parking garage, especially in the winter. Also loved the enclosed mailroom and locked exterior doors for added safety. Only cons were the 1 out of 2 elevators that kept breaking down, and the small laundry room. But it was still more than reasonable for the price and location.

Lived at cedar river tower for two years. Very spacious apartment. Management always so helpful and understanding. Easy access to high way to get to places. Loved the big windows always had a lot of sunlight comes threw. Always have amazing sunset views every night. Highly recommend if someone looking for place to move into.

I lived in the Cedar River Tower apartments for about 9 years total. Had the first few years under the old management, which totally sucked. Had to get the city involved just to get my apartment up to code, management would enter apartments whenever they felt, front door didn't even lock.

HOWEVER, then new management came and took over, thank goodness! The past 7 years, my roommate and I lived the high life. Everything was legal, clean, safe and professional. Shelby does a great job with communication, keeping tenants 'in the know'. She is helpful and get's stuff done. They are always doing projects to improve the building. And, the front door locks, keeping out people that don' t live there.

Pros: Covered parking. Living downtown, close to food, attractions, bars and more. GREAT view no matter which way you face. Management that cares. Maintenance men that are knowledgeable and quick to respond (and not creepy-like other apartments complexes I've lived in). Quiet. A communal 'hang out room'. 2 shared balcony's to hang out on. Rent price is fair. Apartments are nice sized.

Cons: Communal laundry room. Heating and air only come out of a box on the wall (expected as the building is old).

100% recommend.

I enjoyed living in the Tower for two years. I lived on the 17th floor and really enjoyed the high rise view. I also appreciated the location. I worked five blocks away and walked nearly everywhere: work, gym, restaurants and church all in a half-mile radius. If there was a grocery store close, I wouldn't have even needed a car.

Other pros & Cons:
pros:
direct access to biking/walking trail
on the river
Awesome and responsive management
affordable rent

cons:
old appliances/cabinets
it's downtown, so naturally there are some homeless people around
no gym
