Much cheaper souvenirs than near our hotel. 4 sombrero magnets for 100 pesos.

Great place to shop so much to see. It would takes days

Got a great Guayabera, negotiated the price but let them also make a living

For a better shopping experience, don’t visit stores on the Main Street. You are verbally accosted and it’s uncomfortable to experience. You’ll need pesos. Go to the stalls behind the main one, in the second and third rows. There’s a Santander Atm at Circle K with a low withdrawal fee for foreigners. The other Santander ATMs across the market charged me 116 pesos to withdraw.
We found the cutest pom pom store. Pom pom strings were 220 and more elsewhere. We got a good price of 180 for 2. But after wanting to buy other things, we were denied a discount. It still felt expensive despite being cheaper than others, which are a total rip off. Some stalls sold more unique items but most of these things felt mass produced instead of artisanal. We shopped at about 20 stores and purchased from 3.

Great little market. Got decent deal on a few things to take back home. I was there by myself & never felt unsafe. You definitely want to haggle here.

This is a huge flea market with tons of buying options. There are also open air restaurants with fresh seafood and yummy Mexican food.

Pay in Pesos, and make sure u change money before.
Never take the first offer, and they love to hustle the tourist that don't speak Spanish, especially Americans!
One guy even said it and got surprised when we spoke Spanish. He then joked about it and didn't know what to do.
for anyone buying tequila bottles that are made by "The mayand" check the EXACT bottle they are going to sell u! Our group got tipsy and was sold 2 bottles for $300 that were actually made in Zacatecas and are under $25 lol
